Is the problem with the latest nvidia drivers and PB fixed?

Are you sure, I installed the latest Nvidia drivers (53.03) last night for my Geforce TI 4400, booted up ET, and sure enough, about 1 minute in, everything locked up just like the previous 52 version drivers I had tried.

If your sure there is a fix Bokkem, where is it documented?

Please post your findings here, or in the other thread.
It seems the problem is not resolved for everyone so it could be another update that I installed rescently that fixed the problem (like latest VIA Hyperion 4in1 drivers). Not sure, but I definitely play ET with forceware 53.03 without problems.

No luck for me I just tried to run ET, and it locked up shortly into the round (about 30 secs to 1 min.) I don’t think it is the VIA Hyperion 4 in 1 because I installed the latest ones today, and it still locked up.

Don’t know if this matters but the more info the better, I installed in this order 53.03 driver, via 4 in 1, then did the pbweb update.

My PC

AMD Athlon XP 2000
512 megs DDR 2700
Geforce 4 TI 4400
Sound Blaster Audigy

I’m very confused. Yesterday I installed the Forceware 53.03 WHQL on my other computer and ET is running fine on this PC too (before PB v1.058 it used to crash). This one has a GF4 MX440 and in my own I installed a FX5900 Ultra. I have all the default settings in the Nvidia tabs. ET settings are all set to high. 43 FPS steady. I connect to any server without problems; Punkbuster enabled/disabled - Etmain/ETpro.

Maybe a directX prob? try the latest, if you don’t already have it.

I have the latest directx installed, it has to be a punk buster problem, because I could load a map in /devmap mode no problem, no locking up nothing. I bet, I never tried, but I could’ve played on non-pb servers fine.

Anyways I gave up, I was going into ET withdrawal and needed to play so I uninstalled 53.03, and installed the Omega 45.23 drivers.

No joy here either :banghead: I loaded the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers, updated PB, installed 53.03, then set pb_system 1 and the thing still locks up tighter that virgin on prom night.

I’m so sick of having to roll back my video drivers every time I want to play ET. I can’t believe that Even Balance can’t produce software that compatible with the video drivers from one of the largest graphics companies… PATHETIC

I get nothing even with the latest nvidia drivers.
I had to disable punkbuster to play with out freezing up.
everything is good on my side like temps low enough, driver updates and all. sucks.

Weird. My Forceware problem has been solved on two PCs since PB 1.059
It doesn’t change anything noticable to performance or looks, but ofcourse it’s nice to have the latest drivers installed. On the other hand, now “Need for Speed Underground” has the hiccups :banghead:
