Is the loudout garunteed or randomised?
is the obsidian culprit one loudout or a 1/9 chance
I think the Culprit case Obsidian (from Vengeance pack) is a set card, while the special edition culprit case (the one bought for 500 cycles) is a 1/9 chance. I may be wrong though… Will see if I can find out. @RazielWarmonic can you clarify more?
and while we are checking, do we know if the Obsidian card will just be a skin, or like the founders with a special model. Im sure this will influence peoples decision about buying the case.
Very few obsidians have a special model. I’m going on the assumption that it will just be an obsidian skin similar to the Phoenix or test weekend skins. Only the founders obsidians ever received a slight remodel.
The normal culprit loadout will include one of 9 random loadouts.
The Obsidian one I believe will be a static loadout.
Yeah. 8 out of 9 people will probably have a bad Culprit. It’s a super rare only-once-gettable special card. Why not making it fixed and an awesome loadout?
You can only buy one case. That’s so it’s guaranteed you get a bad loadout and buy the money version instead.

If this is the case I am really, really disappointed. SD could really take the time and reward people not just with a texture color but also player model.
So IF the Obsidian loadout is static, how is it chosen? I hope it’s a good loadout, otherwise that’s a real waste of money right there.

Why would you expect that? There was (and still is) zero indication that this will be anything more than a reskin. The booster thing was completely SD’s fault but here the info is clear.
If proxy will be revealed as a culprit, loadout doesn’t matter as much, since her cards are shiftty in general. For other mercs though, it would be better if possible culprit loadouts were limited to those 2 or 3 useful ones. Having one chance in a lifetime to get unique skin divided by 9 (or whatever number new system will bring) in terms of usability … already sounds like a trip to a salt mine.

Phoenix was the first Obsidian that had no re-skin right?
I thought the the idea of obsidian cards was to make them very special. Re-color is not really achieving that. Especially when I paid 11 EUR for one card. I dont really count aimee as any value. I can get 50k credits anytime.
That’s why I filter out specials in loadout view - to avoid seeing cards like WTD P21 Vassili.
@RazielWarmonic What happens if a merc who already has an Obsidian happens to become the Culprit? Will the second best get the card instead? Proxy already has an Obsidian.
That would rule out Sawbonez, Proxy, Fragger, Vassili, Phoenix, and a whole bunch of other mercs who already have an obsidian.
