Is stark AR better than BR16 now? The rate of fire is faster, damage is higher.

(A.S.F.S) #1

Stark AR used to be pretty bad. Who think its better than br16 now?

(XavienX) #2

Well the Stark AR has a higher recoil than the BR-16 which can be harder to control however it may serve as an advantage as the recoil goes up and can lead to getting headshots.
Personally I don’t like using burst weapons but I think it’s fine.

(Dawnlazy) #3

It was only worse when both weapons were the same except for ammo count (pre-Containment War), after the changes I’ve always considered it better than the BR. Faster in-burst RPM, so it’s easier to hit more shots, and the extra damage breaks several HP thresholds in 1 less shot.

(Jostabeere) #4

I still want the weapons to be more different to each other. FOr example Stark and BR. One easy to control, faster RoF, less recoil and les damage. The other one being stronger, but much harder to control. Same for the M4 and Timik coughM4-reskincough.

(doxjq) #5

What do you mean now? In my opinion it’s always been better haha. I know plenty prefer the BR16 but it’s never suited my aim. To me the snap lock aim style most people use for burst rifles is better suited for the Stark. While the BR16 fires bursts more often I just don’t like the way it paces the 3 bullets within the burst. The Stark just feels cleaner.

But when was the Stark bad? I’ve been playing Dirty Bomb since July 2015 and the burst rifles have always came out on top if you can aim well.

I was literally waiting for Dox’s answer to this thread, love the Stark Arty <3

BR16 does feel weaker in my opinion, it always has. And burst rifles have always been great. I get very triggered and I cannot understand when some people say that they are the easiest guns to use, it’s the opposite and I’ll always believe that. They also reward a good aim in a greater way than most weapons.

(AlphaUT) #7

If u can control the recoil and aim well, Stark will be better due to a higher damage and fast fire rate

Most people will just keep shooting, which is why the recoil will be higher because of none stop clicking.

Once you find the balance between recoil and clicking speed, well, basically, Stark is better.
However, first most people, they are probably the same.

Id like 30 rnds in the mag because im bad at shooting.

Tracking someone’s movement consistently is harder than point -> click -> reset aim, especially with a whole burst instead of a single shot like the Dreiss, it’s not common to hit all 3 bullets but it’s also not common to miss all of them either. My 2 main weapons are the M4 and Stark, when my aim is off the Stark feels way less punishing than the M4, but when I’m hitting my shots they feel more on par with each other.

(neverplayseriou) #10

stark ar bad? lol, br and stark only have been the 2 most overpowered guns in the game for the last few months…

(Dysfnal) #11

Burst files ought to have lower DPS than other assault rifles, burst damage is valuable, as well as accuracy at range, which is why snipers have such pitiful DPS (sub 100), yet aren’t shit

(A.S.F.S) #12

I think some people misunderstood what i mean by ‘stark ar was bad’. I’m saying if only use stark ar and br16, i prefer br16 more than stark ar, because the scope of stark ar sometimes is really annoying and even somehow distracting. After DB decreased damage and rate of fire for br16 it is quite hard to decide.

(doxjq) #13

It’s hard to compare the two. I know they are both burst rifles with similar damage but they’re really very different guns imo. I prefer the Stark, I know many who play better with the BR-16. It’s just each to their own.

(SaulWolfden) #14

I find the recoil predictable with the Stark even though the BR-16 is easier to control. I don’t mind the scope as much since I’m normally shooting at longer ranges anyway.

(FalC_16) #15

exactly did they change it recently? haven’t been playing DB for a while.

Yeah it was nerfed a few months back, not buffed haha, hence my confusion. Lowered RPM and more vertical recoil. The changes were some what noticeable at long distance for some people, but it was hardly a deal breaker and the gun is still amazing.

(Tanker_Ray) #17

@neverplayserious Well said.

BR is better overall, but Stark has its strong points.

30m of range and most powerful burst dmg + laser sight.

But BR has 30 rounds of mag, and 17dmg x 3 is still able to kill 100HP merc with triple headshot.

BR-16’s spread is much more stable than the Stark.

Up to presonal preference.

(Tanker_Ray) #18

But first, someone please move this thread to Weapon discussion.

(Amerika) #19

I don’t shoot them any differently and don’t really have a preference other than I like the sights/augments on some stark loadouts compared to the BR loadouts I use. I do hate it when somebody gets away with a sliver of HP when I’m using a BR where they would have died if I had a Stark. But that’s rare.

(ChuckJones) #20

I used to like the stark and hate the br because I I could land the slower br burst consistently but when I got a cobalt arty br loadout I decided to get good with the br. Now I love it and I really notice its high dps. I think it is slightly harder to use but has more potential due to higher dps.
