So I’ve reported a level 1 guy with 2 VAC bans on his account for using aimbot. I’ve recorded footage of him obviously using an aimbot and automatically aiming on enemies heads only and reported it to the support on friday morning.
Radrodo answered friday evening with the automatic reply that they take all reports very serious and so on. Today I saw the said cheater playing the game. So why isn’t he banned for using an aimbot in the game if the GM saw my report and answered it?
Is SD actually banning people for cheating?
What you got may have simply been an acknowledgement that your report has been received, so you weren’t left to wonder. If you have clear proof that meets Nexon’s guidelines I see no reason why they would not issue a ban once the report has been investigated. It isn’t any fun seeing a cheater you’ve already reported in game, for sure.
From the rest of us, thanks for taking the time to submit your report!

Okay, that’s good to know.
I’m still kinda sad you have such a high private policy and never actually say if you banned the player or not.
SD should at least inform the person that filed the report if the perpetrator got banned.
Either way, I still trust that GM-Radrodo will do his job.

I agree, just for the reporter to know if he was mistaken or not. With this policy you might be wrong about someone, mistaking skill for cheat and you keep wasting GM’s time by reporting people over and over that are not cheating.
I played another F2P game where the devs published a banlist on the forums. Everyone who got banned for teamkilling, farming or cheating was on that list and everyone could see that.
Sadly Nexon and SD aren’t doing this.
I mean, if the reported guy wasn’t cheating, this could be said by the support. Like “Sorry, not enough evidence” or “Not cheating”
Yep, other games I’ve played too have done this… Personally, I’m all for transparency when it comes to confirming someone is cheating - however Nexon must certainly have their reasons to stick to the privacy policy they have when it comes to banning people.
They might change their mind, but it’s unlikely. As Fang said though, every report is looked into and if you have submitted evidence with the report, there is absolutely no reason why they won’t be banned.

Nexon and SD are too touchy with “naming and shaming” for that to be implemented. They should take a keynote from other developers and actually enforce the “0% tolerance, 100% consequence” mentality.
I understand the sentiment behind it all, but it was a human achievement with many many thousands sacrificed lives over hundreds of years to get the justice away from arbitrariness and lynch mobs and to establish basic civil rights for everybody including the accused and those found guilty.

You’re actually comparing the movement towards the foundation of modern society, to informing the community about the status of people that are protected by a username, firewall, and the fact that they haven’t actually committed a crime bad enough to be punished by the law?
We’re talking about a ban-list, not the high court, saying it’s the same thing is like saying putting up a “no entry” list in a super market is a massive violation of civil rights.

Privacy is the keyword. If my account gets banned, it is something between me and Nexon for doing it. The “lynch mob” and revenge feelings have a low priority or none.
This is different from country to country but many agree to value it only higher in cases of “high public interest and/or impact on society”.

What about all those people you unfairly killed with your cheats? You killed the fun of many people by cheating, so it’s no Nexon and you only.

You want psychological treatment after the traumatizing experience?

LMFAO.
Not to mention your internet persona isn’t protected by anything, INCLUDING privacy laws. It’s not like your real name is said.
I’ve reported load of cheaters in my 500 hours and I haven’t seen said players since. Only one person that I reported still plays the game and I know he was cheating, blatant Wallhack so I’m not sure what to think. I would like to see statistics on how many people have been banned, there’s no name and shame involved with that, just a number to prove to the sceptical side of the community would be reassuring.
@riptide How does that touch the topic of prosecution is not the “business of the reporting person”? You report, you dont have the right for vengeance.
Your persona has no privacy on the internet, what part of that do you not get. If you are a confirmed cheater, it is not defamation and can be publically confirmed ad nauseam.
In fact you can do the same with their real name if they are confirmed of ANY crimes online or otherwise. So long as you only list the crime and their name/alias. Did you know all court cases are public record?
