Is Nexon actually banning anyone right now?

(doxjq) #1

This isn’t a name and shame thread, I’m just wondering if whoever is in control of banning people is away or something? We’ve had two hackers running around on Australian servers for the last two weeks who are using aimbots on maximum settings not even trying to hide it, and despite our numerous (probably even hundreds?) reports they just aren’t getting banned.

Like the guy in server right now has nearly 100 hours on Dirty Bomb over the last two weeks. I reported him nearly two weeks ago and nearly everyone in the server reported him at the same time as me yet still nothing to this day? His aimbot is on maximum settings and he’s just insta-snapping to peoples heads non stop hitting headshots with rhino cross map, and when anyone is trying to kick him from the server his hack turns around and tries to kick the person who called the vote instead.

I’ve dealt with aimbots in game before, and usually within 24-48 hours they are banned from the time we report them, but two weeks?

(doxjq) #2

Update: Apparently I’ve only known about these hackers for two weeks. A few people have been telling me it’s been three weeks now.

Weird that Australia and America have such huge hacker problems.
Here on Europe servers I only encountered ~3 Hackers in my 600+ hours of Dirty Bomb…

Yeah if you’re talking about the fella who plays Rhino and Skyhammer he’s been really annoying. I always assumed he just came about from the influx of kids during school vacation two weeks back but I’ve heard he’s been around for a while.

Pretty sure they do when it’s necessary. I contacted them one day for a user who was acting extremely obnoxiously once : I never heard of that guy anymore, so I guess they did their work.

However it took them a bit of time before answering, like one week or so if I remember correctly. They are probably very busy.

this guy (that I shall not name) is terrible for the community… Australia has a very small player base and this guy alone would have lost Nexon dozens of new players… busy or not, it shouldn’t take 3+ weeks to ban ONE guy thats got hacks on maximum settings… dozens and dozens of reports against him… my two youtube videos which I can’t post here… hint, my channel is my name

The net result of letting a hacker literally play hundreds of hours is lost revenue of Nexon… lost players = lost opportunity for those players to buy mercs, trinkets etc…

Nexon have already demonstrated (not by their actions, but by their inactions) that they don’t care about lost revenue… so I can only conclude they don’t care about Dirty Bomb it self… they are literally allowing it to die!

Come on! this game is awesome… don’t let it die! Nexon! STEP UP AND DO SOMETHING!

Just encountered 1 on a min level 10 server, god help me if he reaches level 20 servers…

Had one yesterday, and the day before that too. This is on EU btw.

They will be pushing out an update for NGS so hopefully that will fix it for now.

Well, I don’t doubt they aren’t busy, but 2 weeks is more than enough time. 3 is just absurd. If you actually look at poits youtube channel it doesn’t get more baltant. The guy isn’t trying to hide it or anything, so I’d deem the ban necessary.

They ban accounts, not players.

NGS doesn’t even detect hackers and rely on players for “reporting for investigation”

Okay? Wow, never really had a huge problem with them. You sure it wasn’t just a very good player with a twink account or someone who’s good at aiming?
Like one of the mods/devs once said: The game has a very high skill ceilling so maybe your opponent is just a relly good player.
I’m not saying that there aren’t any. But the last time I saw one that was obviously hacking was many months ago (and that guy played 102/2).

(JonBongNoJovi) #12

Same guy met on EU servers earlier - 47/0 on execution using rhino , not to blatent

I am positive dude, I even specced and he was snapping onto targets one after the other, and had “bot-like” sway with moving targets, I would send you the footage but I’m not sure if that would go against the name and shame policy. Unless i cut out the name?

We had other more experienced players calling him out also, he was blatant, same goes for the one we had yesterday on trainyard, using a timik long range 1 tapping everyone. Pretty much instakilling.

(Thai-San) #14

Well, nevermind my post then.

(jubilantManatee) #15

They are banning everyone - the servers are down!

I have put in a lot of play time with Dirty Bomb. I recall only 2 -3 blatent hackers. Its report, encourage others to do the same and move on.

Granted, there are some suspicious players that seem to get impossible shots, but at times it could potentially be lag compensation - a lot of the instances involve players with atrocious pings.

DB is currently in maintenance mode.

Thankfully I do find hackers to be rare. most of the time I look at their steam profile and go “look I am fighting a FPS veteran. that explains a lot.”

a 2 month old stream in which the streamer played vs 2 blatant hackers,

one of the hackers getting angry on the steam forums on the 6th of october after getting banned.

so it took them this long to ban a blatant hacker in the already tiny dirty bomb ranked playerbase, gl waiting for people to get banned in pubs.

Can confirm NGS detects hackers and players are being banned. We ask you for your reports in-game to help us with getting rid of those that make it past our anti-cheat.

Also, please try and talk from personal experience if you are encountering blatant hackers. It’s often easy to say there are many hackers around when you hear other people saying, but all of those allegations could have come from one person and they’ve just got out of control.

Personally I can’t remember encountering a hacker outside of the dev streams we used to do, and they showed up specifically for that purpose.

We do know it’s an issue and we’re doing what we can to address it

(The_N00Ba) #19

Honestly I don’t think we know enough about the banning process to be judging here. I know I don’t know. For all I know the people who address the Hacker issues address the hacker issues for all games Nexon America is currently help to publish. if that is the case that has got to be a lot of reports they have to go through. That means a lot of time. Like I said though I don’t know.

and thanks for everyone involved with addressing these hackers.

(doxjq) #20

For the record I’m not overly bothered how rare or common hackers are. I know there will always be hackers in games and it’s impossible to stop them popping up from time to time, but I do get concerned with how the developers/publishers deal with the hackers. Especially when 3 weeks / many reports later the hacker still isn’t banned. It’s just not good for business, and you’ll be losing players because of it.
