Is Mobile Mg42 really worth it ?

very well worth it, but reqires teamwork - ammo and someone to watch your blind spots

exactly, one of the best places to set it up is right past the First tank barricade in Goldrush. Your right under a balcony, so you cant get an airstrike. The only thing you need to worry about is your right flank, so why not set another up on that small alleyway

I mowed down over 30 people without dying in that area. It forced their whole team to walk around the whole map in order to gain access to an area they could have reached in 30 seconds. And with the whole rest of my team (Cept a good fld ops who was giving us ammo) guarding the area around the first truck barricade, we held them off for the whole match without the tank getting past the bridge

The best place for an MG42 is on axis, under the bridge in radar. I got 45 kills in 20 minutes. The only way they ever got me out of there is with a panzer, and even then, they missed 9 out of 10 times. Set up 2 mobiles on the main door, and 1 mobile plus the stationary on the side, and have a field ops running between them, and allies don’t stand a chance. I used to think radar was impossible to win on axis, but a couple MGs is all it takes. Those things kick ass. It doesn’t need a wider FOV, it’s incredibly powerful as it is. You have to have a field ops, though, and you need cover. If you’re by yourself, yeah, then you’re toast.

A clever allied team would have a) tossed in a smoke grenade to blind the MG-42s and than immediately followed by b) the team rushing through the door, FieldOps tossing airstrikes to the left and right et voila they’r in. You might get one or 2 by luck but the smoke is really thick and you can’t see shit

They tried that. Occasionally one of the covert ops would get a smoke grenade out before one of us mowed him down, but those things don’t go very far. It was a little harder with the smoke, but as soon as they come through, they’ve got 2 MGs on them. They don’t make it 2 steps out of the smoke. The field ops were throwing plenty of airstrikes (mostly artillery), but being under the bridge, you’re protected. I would take damage from an airstrike a few times, but I was never killed by one. Plus, they can’t get both sides of the bridge at once.
