true, it’s always a good idea to have some breasts on the battlefield to motivate the troops. but the breasts have to be invisible to the enemy soldiers, otherwise they can profit…[/quote]
You’ve got it wrong way round, the breasts are there to divert the enemies attention. When the enemy are makeing the charge you send out a single woman using her breast ability and whilst they all look at her, you panzer them.
Though I do laugh when every time I see VPL|Kayleigh killed himself
Some thoughts:
Memory constraints are the main reason we don’t have female models or voice chat in W:ET. The usual time/money vs benefit equation is another.
Making one class female is a little clichéd and I think we’d generally avoid that in any multiplayer game we made, unless it fitted the context (e.g. if it was a specific character rather than a generic class).
While there clearly were women involved in WWII, they didn’t have much to do with 99.9% of the combat, especially on the ground. The game just doesn’t have any situations where there would be women fighting - no resistance missions, no air combat, no sniping on the Russian front, etc.
There was a woman in one of the images from before ET was released, I guess she was cut during rehersal. (When Wils realized what a cliché it was.
)
The woman was a non-playable character from Mad Doc’s singleplayer portion of the game.
Or she was tragically died with the cancellation of the SP portion of the game, which could logically have included some of the justifications Wils described.
As far as the cliche goes, it would nice to see a game developer include female characters who weren’t there mainly for T&A value :moo:
edit:
bah, sniped by Wils :banghead:
Alright the reason that there arent any women in et is basically this. To my knowledge there werent any women fighting on the American side and thus with the allies bieng American you can draw your own conclusions. Now the Nazis on the other hand did have some women fight but not in large numbers and it wasnt used very widely and the impact on the war was little if any cept some nazi girls slaughtered in Russia. The closest women came to actually fighting in any army was in Russia. I don’t count any resistance movement as part of that countries army since basically. The French and any other resistance were German bieng that their lands were at that time owned and occupied by Germany. Also you are seperating yourself by a few of todays laws from bieng a citizen of a country in that anyone who commits a crime is no longer a citizen if they are convicted jailed.(by U.S. standards)
So they make the black running all over teh field to give their teammates ammo

all i can think of is helga. A female character would work well in SP game when they can be a character imporatnt to the story. from a media standpoint there are sertain expectitions of whomen in sertain roles and this can lead to expectations from the player to help a story
the problem with puttin females into ET is that there wouldnt be any real payof as far as gameplay is concerned. It also depends on what setting you are going for. The harsh reality is in a ww2 game if half the players were women then it would feel out of place
also making sertain classes one gender is another can have bad effects like player chopsing to play as one class just because of the gender and not based on any gameplay issues. Allowing each player to play any class as male or female gets around this but then u hit memory problem more models and textures needed. more v says more complex code to have he was gibbed and she was gibbed. When you developing a game im pretty sure the designer have more imporatnt issues to look at
Maybe if their was a cleaner or cook class in et then we could have women in it!
maybe if you had a realistic view of the world, you wouldn’t be married to your right hand

oh snap!
The right hand is nice and familiar, but for feeling dirty its gotta be the left
W:ET is not a simulation.
So there would be space for female characters.
I think the majority of players are male.
But it would be a good idea to have also female characters so that also female players can identify with their player model.
And I don’t think of the models / skins of wegein.
i get the impression from some of the posts here in the thread that not only the game but also the players are sexist.
Hmmm i wonder what a realistic view of the world is?
The thread is stupid so how can u contribute constuctive posts? Why does it matter. People play the new perfect dark which has a woman for a main character and boys dont complain.
Tbh i was only havind a laff. U can call off ur army of feminists now Niall!
