Is anyone reporting the hackers?

Just curious if others out there are taking the time to report hackers?

I’ve been spec’ing hackers and recording them when I run into them and sending to nexon. Not sure if it’s helping, but I haven’t see a hacker I’ve reported again, so I’m hoping they are being removed from the game.

The hacking is getting out of control. Sure, there are the super obvious hackers, but there’s also a second tier of “smart” hackers… they don’t do the instant kill hacks, but if you spec them over a match its obvious they are hacking.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else is taking the time to report these guys?

I sent in hacker footage twice to the Dirty Bomb support section on the Nexon site as you are instructed to do here. They said the issue was resolved, but they didn’t even watch the video. I kept an eye on the view count.

Describe this rolls eyes

This has me worried as well. I’ve sent them youtube links (easier for me to upload to youtube than to their server) and I get the “issued resolved” but the view count is 2 (which are both from me).

I really don’t want to waste time submitting videos if they aren’t even looking at them or doing anything.

I’ve reported 3 obvious cheaters. They are still playing. Reporting through Nexon’s report system doesn’t do shit.

More often then not the people who you think are hacking aren’t. If you are suspicious of someone you should do a search on their user name. Most good fps players streamed their gameplay on twitch.tv at least few times.

I didn’t encountered one so far. But if I find one, I probably will report him.

i reported a hand full a while ago… but since i dont know if it is doing anything i stopped.

I wonder if an in-game reporting system with the following call:

function reportScriptKiddy(Player obj){
//do nothing. lol.
}

would have a sufficient placebo-effect. At least that function follows the support-routine to the dot :tongue:

Well, support probably has access to ECHO data. And if the person has an average headshot % of like 90% then they don’t even need to watch the video. People really need to use their brains and stop being so cynical.

It would be nice if @GM-Radrodo or somebody else explained how it’s done though.

That won’t happen - why make it easier for the cheat makers to figure out how to work around it? Heck, it’s apparently easy enough already :stuck_out_tongue:

AAARGH.

Two days ago, we did matchmaking session with AIE clan. We were 4 out of 5 playing the game for at least 9 months. We encountered some French premade who obviously did not know anything about the game or its community. They started to flame about cheating and stuff for the whole game. I suddenly cracked up and, being French as well, the chat went insanely crude. I feel sorry about this now :(…

I reported 1 cheater, i didnt get confirmation of whether he was or was not banned.

It’s not trade secrets. We all know there is ECHO data. The question is does support use it to ban people or not which would explain why videos sometimes aren’t viewed as they aren’t necessary. Nobody gains any extra information that isn’t already out there.

If this is true then they should really streamline their reporting function. Capturing videos and uploading them is a pain in the ass :slight_smile:

specially when you have shitty internet like myself :frowning:

I posted about this in another thread, but my thoughts are just that Nexon/SD should really just post some aggregate stats about bans, such as, “19 bans this past week”, or “82 bans since launch”.

I don’t care as much if bans are automated or manual, but more so that there is some sort of activity on their part.

Because as it stands now, I don’t think there have been any bans on cheaters. I’ve reported numerous times, with 1st person POV video via spectate, but I honestly don’t think think there has been any action. I can’t imagine them having any staff dedicated to investigating all allegations against cheaters. :frowning:

(Jupes) #18

why would i report hackers? if they get banned they will just do a new account and cheat… untill they HWID ban the hackers i wont report no one.

(Ghosthree3) #19

Because normally anti-cheat uses HWID.

There is a famous video of a dirty bomb hacker on youtube. The guy who reported him somehow watched the game from his POV with visible enemies and teammates (purple squares). How can we re-watch our games to spot hackers? I haven’t meet one yet but would nice to know how to really deal with them.
