We are making us aware of two new IRC channels that have been set up, one purely for Enemy Territory Quake Wars discussion and the other is a place to meet up and arrange matches.
The discussion channel can be found at #et:qw and the warfind channel can be found on #etqw.wars
Both are on irc.quakenet.org
The Admins here will be frequenting the channels and we hope to see you all there at some point.
I can agree that starting a war channel this early seems a bit silly but nothing wrong with having a regular irc chat channel for it. But I guess it’s a matter of taking control of the channel names while they are free.
Well the discussion channel might be a good thing. (it might keep junk like this of the forum)
a reply like pentium4nthrees there indicates that one or more members of his family died tragically in some cyberwar on somewhere on irc at a young age, thereby transferring alot of hate and fear to him unable to cope with the reality.

havent got irc access on this machine, but was curious on how the channel works out? are there growing number of users too?
No one ever talks in any irc channels i goto. Maybe they are just ignoring me :bored:
There’s often chatter in #splashdamage between 10pm and 1am UK time, if that helps (unlikely).

lol, yeah irc can be slightly scary if you haven’t used it before but it’s really nothing to it.

Yous missed it today! There was talk on #splashdamage between 4:30-5:15pm GMT about IrnBru, coffee and _Mars’ ma shoutin at him for not eatin fast enough, and hailstones! It was racy! :moo:
Yeah I used to hang out in the SD channel a year ago and it was like most “public” channels, you could here a needle drop in there.
I blame IMs for destroying IRC. There was a time when email was too much bother so a nice public channel to chat in was just the cuppa. Now everyone is perma-linked to everyone else its so easy to just shoot off a quick IM.
Been saying it for years but someone really should meld IRC and P2P together and make a more easily accessable but much more powerful IRC2 standard.
Now where did I leave my rock? 
It is too easy to IM these days…especially with voice activation software. o.O
