I have a problem when trying to connect to any server. it alwyas sais something like invlaid guid, try to reconnect etc. i tried to find an et key, but i can’t find it anywhere. i tried \pb_cdkeyreg, didn’t work. i tried reinstalling, didn’t work. this started to happen wehn i installed the 2.60 patch. i really don’t know what to do. :rolleyes: Thanx for help

Thanx! that admin thing helped me. BUT…
when i connect to a server now, after 2 secs of looking around as a spectator i get a message saying banned for X minutes, empty cd key not allowed. this might be that etkey i can’t find in my system. help again?
Yup, /pb_cdkeyreg helps, but make sure you have your Punkbuster-Client activated, otherwise it won’t work. I don’t know if you know you have to do this, but there are many players who don’t know that you have to enable your PB to get a GUID.
Also it helps to go into a PB enabled server to do the /pb_cdkeyreg if that has that has not been adressed to you yet.
The Problem is, that this mostly happens, when the PB-Servers are down (not the Gameservers using PB, I mean the PB-Servers where your PB-Client is pinging to all the time). And when you do not have a GUID yet, you cannot get one, because the Servers are down.
Normally, you automatically get a GUID on a Server which has PB enabled, you dont need to do /pb_cdkeyreg, but when the PB-Servers are down, you get kicked for empty CD Key because PB cannot give you a GUID.
Well depends… I have seen people be able to log on after they delete the key. But then i also see them gettin kicked to

I dont really know, but as far as i know, you only need to do /pb_cdkeyreg, if you want to play on a server which has PB disabled and if you haven’t ever played on a PB-server with that Installation.
As far as what i seen, it needs to be a punk buster enabled server. One of our admins in my clan had the problem the other day.
