Invalid CDKey / Empty CDKey

Arrgh!!!

I forget the problem. Never mind, but it annoyed me TRES!

Short desc.
Valid Blah Blah Key not reachin Guid Auth Server (yay!)

Read forums - delete CDKey!

I have it in batch file to do this

Error: Empty CDKeys not allowed on this server - 5 minutes (at least ours we only kick for 1minute)

This 1 thing about ET makes me terribly sad, at least 2-3 times per day.

I will understand if it don’t matter to anyone, just had to get it off me (manly) chest after all this time :moo:

well I think most of us have had that problem, most of us are sick of it and, I would love to take a panzer and show the cd key auth server the meaning of invalid

real fuckin sick of this now, apologies for the bad language

thought 2.60 & etpro & new pb releases would have taken care of it, and i waited patiently for things to iron themselves out

then afterwards, SO many other helpful tips and tricks

but no

VALID CDKEY IS NOT REACHING GUIDAUTH SERVER

very VERY painful, EVERY DAY

I think all these ppl did try to correct it and I am blaming ISP, because I sincerely think these nice ppl would not put such a delightful person as myself through this trauma every day! O, daffodils!

I found a new trick to get around it (sigh), e.g. you want to connect to server A:

  • Connect to server B first, you may get the guid auth message.
  • Disconnect and reconnect to server A.

The trick is that the server B is just a “test” server. When you get kicked, it doesnt matter, since you wanted to disconnect anyways. But now the way is free to connect to server A and the delay/timeout which causes the guid auth message doesn’t happen again.

I suggest you report it to Evenbalance Errol. We can all complain about it in forums, but if we want it fixed we need to nag the ones that can do anything about it.

They will probably request that you do a nslookup and ping the auth server, so it’s a good idea to include that from the start.

Type the following two commands in a command prompt and include the output in your ticket:

nslookup etguidauth.evenbalance.com

ping -n 20 etguidauth.evenbalance.com

Cheers Spoof, you’re right :]

Will raise a ticket with them
