Introduce Yourself!

(DoseyWallups) #141

Hey all,

I started gaming with Quake. I joined nyX in 98 and we competed in RA2 and then RA3, reaching and holding the number one spot on the predominant US ladders of the time. Part of us moved over to RTCW when it came out and after farting around for the first season we got our team together and won CAL-M season 2. We joined CAL-I for a couple seasons but most of my guys began to wander off and I had to dredge up a new team. We moved into ET for a short time but some of us had issues with the spam in that game so we did not continue to compete, though most of us continued to pug ET for years to come.

I took a break from competing but played QW and Brink casually under different names as well as a multitude of other games. I still play with the same core group of guys and several of them are waiting to see how DB turns out.

I have never had aspirations to be a pro gamer but I am a weekend warrior and love competing. I have high hopes for DB and I am looking forward to bringing nyX back and contributing to this community.

More than anything, I want a community like we had in RTCW. I have a lot of friends from that time and I miss the amazing scene. I intend to do whatever I can to help develop it again with DB,

nyX Dosey

PS Nail, I saw your PM in irc but you were already gone. The answer is yes

nyx was west coast RA3 correct? I believe my clan, Team SIT, played you guys. We were an East Coast clan though. =]

(DoseyWallups) #143

yes west coast. I do remember SIT, though I don’t recall if we ever played, back then East and West were like two different worlds

I like what you got going on with DirtyBombers btw, keep up the good work. I will be sure to get more active over there in the coming weeks/months.

All,

Just wanted to introduce myself and say its an honor to be here to provide feedback and help out where I can. I come from the late RTCW years and played NA ET competitive for almost 5 years. I then moved on to COD and played that for the past 4 years. During that time I also played source and most recently CS:GO. My goal here is to help out and give both positive and negative feedback. My hopes are the game play is some what like RTCW/ET but with a modern feel and new challenges.

Being from NA I see there’s not a lot of people on testing out the maps. What are the peak times in NA?

Thanks

Godfather

Hey guys, after seeing some inspiring posts cough rex cough  i felt the need to write something here…

My gaming nick is Samurai and i am part of sGs Gaming, i guess a few of you will recognise me from Quake Wars either from the competitive scene, my guide/tutorial video’s or just general presence on pub servers.

Quake Wars was my first competitive FPS game, in which i was actually playing for a.ToOn rather late on the scene, and then just mixed around later on for community organised cups with my german friends :penguin:.

I was actually part of sGs gaming before my time in a.ToOn but purely on the basis of being Apoc’s younger brother. So after Quake Wars i naturally resumed playing with them in other games just enjoying FPS gaming at public level and getting involved in comp whenever we had players interested.

When brink came out we made a real effort to succeed in the competitive scene, and i guess we exceeded our own expectations as we reached the finals of the ESL EU Championship in germany at Gamescom 2011. This was an awesome achievement for us, it was a great experience (got to meet my teammates for first time IRL - apart from apoc ofc  and also got to meet Rex :tongue:) and it was a real taster of what it is like to be a professional gamer playing infront of an audience with significant prizes at stake.

Since then i spent a good year tracking ESL down for mah moneyz  and now im just enjoying gaming with friends and waiting for the next opportunity to enter the esports scene again. (DB fingers crossed)

Peak-times on EU servers are 17-21 GMT.

(Provok) #153

Hello everyone,

I’m Romain “Provok” from France, I’m 20 years old and I’m a Web Developper. I’ve been playing Wolfenstein:Enemy Territory since 2006 and competitively from 2008 to late 2012 with my team (sticked - french team), we are still playing together but on another games (SC2, LoL, Fifa13 etc…) and we’re looking forward for DirtyBomb to make a comeback in esport as a team !

W:ET was the first game I played when a friend showed it to me, I didn’t stop playing it since then (I still play like twice a month on public servers). Then I started playing SC2 but I’m not really good at it (Gold League). I prefer watching streams and following the scene so much more, I know almost everything about the players, teams, facts, dramas etc… My two favorite players are Stephano (french powerhouse) and DongRaeGu (korean owner).

Since I was a bit bored of SC2 (waiting for the new HotS expansion pack in March), I started playing LoL two weeks ago with 3 of my teammates and it’s really nice to be honest and even if I had no experience in MOBA at all, I’m doing well. I’m playing Nocturne jungle as my main (will give Lee Sin a try soon) and I’m level 20 at the moment.

On a side note we have a community mumble with sticked so if a french-speaking dirtybomber reads this and wants to play this game with us he’s welcome, just send me a PM on this forum and I’ll send you back the IP and password !

Have a good day/night !

(potty200) #154

Welcome provok! Nice to see more ET faces around here.

(psycozz) #155

Hi everyone, my name is Nordine “psycozz”.

I have played W:et from 2004-5 to 2010. I have almost played with french team as Hfe (monkey smirzz) and the old player from desire (rizzle , fuZ). I have never been the player I wanted to be ^^.

After W:ET, I have played Brink with the Origine Online (french team) and enRo GRIFFINS, we did a lot of good things as the french world cup which we won and the qualification for the Assembly in Finland (against epsilon) .

My enRo mates and me were too excited when we heard that SD will release a new brink/ET like game.

That’s why I’m here with them to play competitively with some french and german players as (artier, resix, yonda, hertz, smirzz)
Have a good day

(s3r4phic) #156

Hello Everyone,

I played W:ET form around 03 until a couple years ago played a few TWL matches but nothing too serious.

Gaming In General:

I also play SCII D3 Civ 5 CS:GO TF2 but none of the other FPS games I have played matched the fun I had playing W:ET looking forward to start testing and reading everyones input!

(Nail) #157

I’m me, I’m old (62) and I’m still the custodian at www.enemy-territory.com and really surprised my radeon 4350 will actually run this game, mind you 4 fps isn’t actually running

used to play Delta Force 2, but hackers were getting annoying and one day on CNN, W:ET was mentioned, looked cool, downloaded and got hooked

mostly just play Settlers 3 and Stronghold Crusader these days, old man games although I’m intrigued by games like Dear Esther

(Runeforce) #158

I guess I will have to reevaluate my perception about being one of the old-timers around here (32), and perhaps instead start to throw a little more respect around :o no guarentees though, alright?

(revvv) #159

Hey Everyone,

Been playing online games since i was around 12 starting with every Q2 and Q3 game and mod you can think of, played seriously in ra3 and cpma and also UrT. Played COD every version and dabbled in CS for a bit and then just ESEA pug CSGO.

I am in school, from Canada on the west coast and I REALLY want this game to prosper because there aren’t many good FPS fast paced games out there.

Thanks,

broot

Time for a short intro I guess!

I’m 26 years old, from Sweden.
Started playing multiplayer when i found TF and I did some time with COD1/2 at a more “fungaming” level.
Played alot of CS from 1.1 and a long way into 1.6.
Currently playing TF2 with chippy in KiH.

I’m here hoping that DB will be a top-contender in the competitive gaming department.
