Introduce Yourself!

(biz) #421

Hi.

I’ve been playing FPS games since Doom.
I’ve been a Splash Damage fan since ET. Sunk a lot of time into W:ET & ETQW (which I still sometimes play). Played some Brink, but that kind of died quick
I’ve played Quake 3 / Quake Live a lot more though

I’m way more skilled at strategy games and sometimes stream those on Twitch, but shooting things is also fun

Hoping to see the devs create something great once again

Howdy peeps,

So keep up the good work SD its looking great so far!

I’m primarily a FPS gamer however I play almost any kind of game. I’ve been playing video games for 10 years and PC shooters for 5 years. I found that i’m a natural. I’ve been called a Pro with some FPS games but I’m not technically with a Pro group nor do I personally think that i’m quite on that level yet. However I’ll get to that level soon enough. Also I’m going to college for graphic design and video production. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDZwtvfSASg

I’d suggest you don’t add slow motion, jerky or video pause effects in the time leading up to a kill.

I guess these are all added in post-processing, but it does make people think hacker and it’s not pleasant viewing.

Also, welcome.

Hi all!

Glad to be a part of the alpha! I’m from Geezer Gaming =GzR= and I played hundreds of hours of ETQW. I host the ETQW for newbies website: http://etqw.geezergaming.com/newbies/ and I used to run a ETQW signature website too. I didn’t really play W:ET back in the day -it just wasn’t on my gaming radar at the time I guess. I have played a lot of the Battlefield games and no CoD outside of the first Modern Warfare. I don’t really like the ultra competitiveness of Quake Live or CounterStrike. I like a game which I can use some tactics as well as pure skill to succeed in. I also prefer a little more people than 8v8 so there’s not quite as much pressure on each player. Anyhow, Extraction has been fun to play when it’s a full server and I have a skilled friend on my team and we work together. I’ve been in some gaming leagues with ETQW, but for me it’s as stressful as it is fun!

Zarlor! I knew I recognised the name from somewhere when I saw you on the servers.

Nice to seem more and more ET:QW folks around these parts.

Hello, I recently just bought access to Closed Alpha for Extraction because I heard it was going to be the next competitive esports title for fps. Right now I currently play Shootmania: Storm, an fps by Nadeo. I’ve competed in tournaments such as ESWC 2012 in Paris, France, IPL5 in Las Vegas, NV, the Shootmania Launch event in San Francisco, CA, and many other online events. I’m very interested in testing this game so I can bring over some of my buddies, and start playing competitively.

(Hipolipolopigus) #429

Hey folks, just got my access :3

I’m a '92 baby and I’ve been gaming for two thirds of my life, starting with an early EA Playstation title called “Auto Destruct”. Didn’t really get into multiplayer FPS titles until my late teens; my angst was rather delayed and I was a total study freak. I first came across DB when a friend in a ludology course showed me the trailer for ECHO. I’m a hobbyist developer myself, with 11 years of C++/C# under my belt, so I feel that ECHO is a great idea. Few titles actually utilize anything like it - even in the AAA market - and I’ve even started utilizing the same concept for my own projects. Being able to evaluate when something is wrong is only part of fixing it, the rest is the “why”.

I was one of the folks that adored Brink, despite its’ limitations and minor issues. I’m using the Veteran pack at the moment, but I’ll definitely be upgrading it if I enjoy it. Good luck, team :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

(WaRadius) #434

Hello everyone,

I’ve been playing FPS games since Duck Hunt. Even though I’m not a big fan of FPS genre there are many exceptions like PlanetSide 2, BRINK and several co-op shooters(PAYDAY, Killing Floor). Even though I don’t like BRINK that much I have some friends that I have fun playing it with. And that’s why I’m here.

I like role-based games where you can’t rambo all the way to the victory alone. A perfect example of such game is Global Agenda (which is not FPS but TPS) where actions of every single person decide the outcome of the match. And I hate modern TPS shooters where camera is shifted to the left or to the right instead of being on top of the character (curse you, Gears of War).

I’d like Extraction to have more class-based features for a great variety of gameplay approaches.

P.S. How do I get a Founder badge? Is it not given for VIP Founder Pack?

Hi!

Got a feeling this has something to do with transfering beta users.
