Introduce Yourself!

(Shelly) #341

Hello,

finally got my key on friday and happy to be here. My name is Shelly, I´m 39 and live in Germany.

Short Gaming History:

From console gaming (ps2) I switched to pc gaming about 2004. Started off with Battlefield Vietnam, loved that game, also played it competetively but unfortunately I was years too late. As the comp scene died I started with QW, didnt play the beta but got the game on first day it was released over here. Best game ever for me so far and I played it excessively (~5000 hrs), took a few breaks inbetween, played Bfbc2, Bf3 and a few other games not worth mentioning (got about 60 games). Atm busy with CS:Go which I also play competetively, but starting to get bored of it. I hope DB will get me as addicted as QW did.

Thats it, hope to enjoy DB soon.

(EvoSteven) #345

Hello guys, I’m EvoSteven.

I’ve just been accepted to the Alpha Test and I’m very happy to be able to be a part of the development.
Enemy Territory has consumed atleast 5 years of my life. I loved it. I still do to this day and still play it sometimes.
When my brother told me about Dirty Bomb, I got superexcited. Instabought the cheapest bundle (quite low on cash at that moment) and have been on the edge of my seat for every mail I’ve received.

Today, I got it. I literally jumped into the air. I know it’s not going to be the same as ET, but the concept is there. And I’m willing to help to forge it into the right game.

Pretty poor introduction but I’m happy to be here <3

Hello, I was just accepted to the Alpha test a few days ago. Some of you may have noticed me earlier in the Alpha video sections discussing mostly gameplay.

As for my prior experience involving SD’s games, I have played Wolfenstein, Wolf:ET, QW:ET, and for a short bit Brink. As for other FPS, I have played all the way back to Doom 2 and Heretic (mainly Quake and Unreal), which makes me feel kind of old now when looking back so far. I prefer the mouse and keyboard for FPS and “Tabletop” games (Real Time and Turn Based, Top down RPG’s, etc.) while preferring the Gamepads for Third person based games and fighters (Sticks too). If anyone has fired a gun before, aiming with your whole “Hand” via a mouse feels a lot better than with your thumbs, hence why I 99% of the time favor the mouse over pad (one exception to the rule has been the Metroid Prime series if you consider that “fps”). Same for tabletops, I generally feel picking up and putting down pieces more intuitive with the mouse as a hand motion.

So why do I mention these? I will be focusing my feedback on Interfacing with the game and the gameplay. If I find myself “fighting” with the game in any way, either through controls or how the game is played, I will point it out and stress it. I will also point out any major glitches and flaws I spot. I find a person’s ability to play the game, and the game’s depth key to success

(channie) #347

Hey there, channie, 31, french native, living in Montreal, Canada.

Played a lot RTCW MP, but small timer on ET, ETQW and only a couple hours on Brink.

Modder back in the days, I tried to make a map for ETQW but the scope was too huge and I got bored. DB’s map making looks more accessible thanks to UE3, and maybe I will try again (or at the very least I can give some technical help to those trying as I have lots of experience with the engine)

Cheers!

Nice some new french meat

(Rémy Cabresin) #350

Bored so I guess I’ll introduce myself now!

My name is Rémy 'ADETOOO" Cabresin, due to capital spam rules everywhere also often as ‘adeto’. I’m 21 years old from The Netherlands. Started playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein when I was about 10/11 years old on my grandma’s old Compaq PC. When Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory got released she gave me her PC for my birthday and I started playing that on it. Been playing ever since, tried ET:QW but was disgusted by it(sorry to those who like it).

Right now still play W:ET quite a bit, same for RtCW. 3 Years ago I had to go into mental therapy because I had a lot of problems with myself(if people want to know more feel free to ask me! I’m very open about it but a forum is a bit TOO open I think :D) so didn’t play too much during that phase, only some LANs or ‘big’(its still ET  ) tournaments. Finished most of my therapy about 3 months ago and got in touch with some old ET buddies and started playing again. Besides that since about 2/3 months I have been shoutcasting W:ET on Twitch. Tried that back in 2010 but because I was playing so much I never actually casted alot. Some time ago I picked it up again and like to do it a lot, not nearly as good a caster as some people out there, yet!

Got my DirtyBomb key last saturday(7-13-2013), enjoying it a lot as a player but definatly looking forward to shoutcasting capabilities/spectator entertainment value!

Salut!

Un autre Montréalais! Bienvenue!

(loekino) #352

Hello!

My gaming history started when i was around 11 years old(iirc) with the rtcw demo after that i played casually for another year and i kinda left the game because i never bought rtcw, but when i was 14 years old Enemy Territory came out and it was free so of course i was gonna try. Then i got addicted and played another 5/6 years more seriously and played on 4 Crossfire LAN’s. Not achieved that much but had a lot of fun, greatest achievement would be winning the Clanbase 2011 Fall OC. but that was kinda when the scene was getting smaller and less skillful, still earned a shiny pocal!

Anyway i have been playing some quake style of games too on the side, mostly duels against friends. After 2010/11 i kinda left gaming since i got bored of ET and didnt feel like there were any good shooters that i could play competitive games with that were team based(with classes). Played some casual Heroes of Newerth, than moved on to where i am now; Blacklight Retribution. But those developers are not maintaining their game for the competitive scene, they mainly focus on the more casual public players who are dominant in Blacklight. And i rarely enjoy playing on publics for a long time :x.

So yeah, i have been around a while and this is the only game in years that made my pants tingle. So lets hope was worth the tingle!

Name’s Chris and I have been a gamer on the PC since the original Counter Strike game. I’m a former competitive Madden NFL player on the Xbox 360, won a few amateur state titles with my team (mostly of friends from back in high school). I dabbled in SCII, BF2 and 3, Call of Duty, CSGO, League of Legends, and others. The only Xbox games I have right now are the Madden series and Halo 3 and 4, the football games kept me busy and entertained for sure. I’m a longtime fan of shooter games and especially multiplayer games in general…singleplayer-only games just don’t hold my interest for too long.

Personally, am born in Kensington, UK and lived in Paris, LA, NYC, and Fort Meyer during my life. I’m currently living in good ole Texas…but goes to college up in Connecticut.

Hopes to get in-game and shoot some more in DB…just got my alpha access today !

(Chninkel) #357

Hi, I’m David, 31, another french fresh meat.

Long story short, I started playing shooters with Halo on first xbox. I switched to pc with half-life and Elder’s scroll series and medal of honor who was my first online game. A day, a friend has installed Enemy-Territory on my pc and showed me it, I said something like: “what the f*** is that crap game” and never ran it during 6 months. After these six months I launched it “to see” and played it for almost 10 years. I also played Quakewars, Wolfenstein2009, brinks, Quakewars is really a great game. Tested warface during the short beta and soldier front 2 too.

I’m now playing Alliance of Valiant Arms since last year, it’s a great game but doomed by hackers. I want to replace it by another good game and I was looking at dirty bomb since it was announced so… Here I come
