Hi all,

I’m Brika, frenchy and 41 year old. My first console game was Pong and fist computer games was Wolf3D and Duke Nukem. I’ve all SD game in my FPS collection and play to W:ET since 2007. I’ve wrote a lot of tutorials about this fantastic game. I’m happy to take part in DB and trying to help for making this game a really good FPS.

PS: sorry for my bad english

Hey, I’m Harry, 22, Surrey - UK, Male, Single, Bartender, Competitive gamer.

I’ve always enjoyed FPS games filling a good chuck of my social and competitive needs in life.

Childhood Background
Growing up, I played Quake and Duke Nukem 3D on the PC, this set the foundation for my love of FPS games, On N64, i played Goldeneye 64, and Turok Rage Wars, these really introduced to me the fun of playing competitively against a friend. next on PC, I played Quake 3: Arena, which opened up competitive online play to me, I attempted to play online, but only to dismay, i was not yet good enough. Later, I picked up Timespliters 2 on GC, this really killed time though secondary school, too where I was finally introduced to Counter-Strike: Source. This brought together everything I loved about FPS’s and more.

Competitive Background
I was introduced to CS:S by a friend, to where he then introduced me into a public clan. We would improve and try harder and harder to beat harder people, play matches against other clans, and join fun ladders. Though this, I met a lot of interesting, cool and talented individuals, online and at LAN. After playing the game for 7 years casually with these players, i suppose got pretty good

I went on to pick up Crysis 2, and managed to rank highly in a few ESL cups, and Won Multiplay’s i42 Crysis 2 Cup. Soon after I then picked up Brink and played for the successful Team Rush, we ranked highly in a few scattered cups, but finished 3rd overall in the ESL Brink EU Cup. now I play for Team sGs which ranked 2nd in the ESL Brink EU Cup, and looking forward picking up and enjoying Dirtybomb

Games I Currently Play For Fun
Shootmania
Black Ops 2
Skyrim
RS07
Quake 3: CPMA
TF2
(Attempting to learn FIFA)

I’ll make my introduction fast,
I’ve been gaming since I can remember and got into FPS genre during the Doom 1/2 era. I started to LAN / Compete for iD Software’s Quake III Arena and picked up VOODOO video cards as a sponsor. I went on to CS 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 - I hit large in Quake 4 when I was picked up by Nvidia and Func Surfaces. I played every new game and kept to the core favorites as well.
Unreal Tournament 3 I was ranked top 25 globally in Death Match FFA and top 40 Over-All Game Modes which is when I picked up my Asus Sponsorship.
Currently I play Counter-Strike GO, Battlefield 3, Black Ops 2, and Quake Live. Recently Mountain Dew via Pepsi Co had me Endorse HALO, a game I do not even play - and I received a Mountain Dew sponsorship (Diet Mountain Dew to be exact; as it was always in photos and videos of me while I gamed and in Tournaments - I would stack cans and create castles).

I am a pretty cool guy I would like to think, Add me on steam (my main gaming communication) here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/WindNvidia3D/

I believe Dirty Bomb can be the next big PC Competitive FPS. I would like to do anything in order to ensure the games post launch success. After not receiving an alpha key and seeing some of my Pro-Gaming buddies get one, I decided to dive in and purchase off the main page figuring I am contributing to Splash Damage’s budget for the game - the more money the better f2p module / game at launch!! (You guys had me spent over 750 hours in Enemy Territory Quake Wars, I still have my old Direct2Drive (forgot what company took them over) version and CDKEY but I was never able to find servers when I tried about 8-9 months ago)

Just call me Wind as thats the gaming tag I’ve always used; you’ll get plenty of Wind0wned! in game as thats been my catch phrase since middle of 2000.

Thanks a bunch guys and cannot wait to see you all in game, and to contribute to Dirty Bomb.

Who are these pro-gaming buddies of yours? Got 17 sponsors and a 19% LG. Sounds legit. http://www.quakelive.com/#!profile/statistics/wind

(bighogins) #192

If you want to bring some of those diet mountain dew cans with you I will smash them on your forehead.

(WindKun) #193

My glory days in Quake have faded quite a bit - still figuring out what exactly it is. I have some great moments of past glory - but I get quite foolish in a lot of FFA Matches, CA is semi consistant (my lowest tier, dropped from 4 to 2), (4 in FFA, dropped from 4 to 3 in CTF etc) - if you’d like to duel in Quake Live, it will be a good live stream match

(Hundopercent) #194

If you intend on keeping your sponsorships I would suggest otherwise.

(mortis) #195

It makes me feel better to know that when I’m getting blown to smithereens while working the objectives, that it’s professional players on the other end. It makes every kill I get that much more of an achievement. And if I can complete an objective while under fire from these living dead-eye human aimbots  , then it gives me hope that others will be able to do it too, post-release.

It’s tough to compete in shooting against some of the high-level alpha players, so I have to overcome them with sneakiness. It’s my only hope…

(Ragoo) #196

Hey guys, some of you may know me from the BRINK forums, I remember being active there for 1+ year before it came out discussing game design and such. Before I played a lot of Quake Wars in pubs.
Since then I didn’t play any FPS so I’m probably extreme noob now :stuck_out_tongue: Only played SC2 and Dota 2 and became a pretty good SC2 (melee) mapmaker since Quake Wars days.

PS: One of the first threads I just read was the Spawn Wave thread. Feels kinda nostalgic to see tokamak discuss and disagreeing with almost everything he said again, it’s good to be back

(acQu) #197

Derp, this is my shot to brag about my SC2 map =>

No joke, was a 4v4 map. Never mapped again after this. Anyway, nice to see another SC2 player :penguin:

(bighogins) #198

Wind when would you like to play? and could you bring some diet mountain dew cans with you. Going to need some for demonstration purposes. Thanks

(Anti) #199

Deleted some needless posts that could have been PMs, keep this thread on topic please.

(KillinFreak) #200

Howdy,

KillinFreak here! I have played many games and started to feel old when talking about how games use to be 10 years ago, when it felt like it was just yesterday. I started off playing consoles with Nintendo, Sega Genisus and then the PS1 and DreamCast until…I came across my first PC experience playing CS. Then in 2003 I noticed W:ET and thought I would never look at another game. I played tournaments, scrims, and a lot of other things for almost 8 years until the servers started dying down and wasn’t as active anymore. So I kind of moved on to playing a lot of games on Steam. I have also actively played F.E.A.R., F.E.A.R. Combat, F.E.A.R. 3, Americas Army, Counter Strike Source, Quake1-3, QuakeWars and a bunch of other things.

In 2009 me and another friend (Rapid_Shot), that is also on here, started up our own gaming clan and hosting our own servers. Almost every week we would have conversations with members of our community stating that W:ET was the #1 game on our all-time list and tried getting them to play it as well with us. But eventually that faded and they did not have the excitement that we had back then. So we took our community in a different route and hosted several servers for other games like TF2, Killing Floor and all sorts of other games here and there. But it was always in the back of our mind wandering when we were going to get that chance to do it again.

But then…

A few months ago Rapid_Shot sent me a link and I could not believe what I saw, SD coming out with DB. We were drooling like crazy wanting to get into the Alpha and get this show on the road. We were hoping this would feed that addiction we had with W:ET that we missed for all those years. Finally I broke down and bought both of us in.

So here I am heart pumping once again waiting for that adrenaline rush to overcome me like it was on Gold Rush when you had to push the tank hard as hell to get through tank barrier #2 by Axis Spawn in order to get into the bank! The gun fights, Arty battles, and just the pure teamwork and determination to push through and not give up. That was when skill and teamwork was needed. I remember guys could go 2-20 KDR but would be the MVP of the team for sacrificing himself as the engineer. Or those long restless nights, trick jumping off the horn in Helmsdeep trying to catch the tank on our way down or the rope ladder in Axis Spawn. Nowadays a lot of games don’t have that true teamwork or comradery and so I am hoping DB will!

Anyways hope to see y’all around, help out and maybe have that special something I have been missing for a while!
