Intermittent Jerky gameplay with APU. Help!

(welshassassin) #1

Hi, new to these forums.
Played this ages ago on a much lower spec PC with no problems. Just come across it again now and am using the following Spec.

AMD A8-6410 APU Quad Core 2Ghz
8MB RAM
5MBit internet connection.

Have tried the lowest graphics settings and it runs ok, UNLESS there’s lots of action on screen. When this happens, everything becomes too jerky to play, just at the crucial moments!.

The APU is a combined CPU & GPU, but surely that spec shoud be enough to play comfortably.?

Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Sure, there is a console appears if u hit the “~” key, that is located above the TAB key. Once that thingy appears, just enter the command: /r_primitives 2 and hit enter, after that write the next command in the console: /vid_restart and hit enter again.

This is well known problem with ati cards, so it should help you i guess.

Better do /seta r_primitives 2 so the cvar is saved. The / can be omitted while doing it at the main menu level btw.

Thanks trAnc3… "/r_primitives 2 and hit enter, after that write the next command in the console: /vid_restart " worked perfectly. Many thanks for your help.
