Interesting ET bug

(Nehle) #1

When I played yesterday I happened across a weird bug in ET (it was under very special circumstances, so I doubt anyone in here will encounter it)
I just thought I’d post a screenshot, because I found it quite funny (diffuclt to play though, I couldn’t use rifle nades, and the accuracy wasn’t at all that of a sniper rifle) it fixed itself once I got killed and the view changed.

Anyways, here’s how it happened:
For some weird reason, whenever I join a game using ASE, the resolution sets itself to 800x600, instead of 1600x1200, and before I knew this, and was used to 800x600, it took some time before I realised.
Anyways, I had played for awhile when I decided to change the resolution. And while the game reloaded the map, I was killed, and someone shot me out from wounded mode. And apparently, I was looking through the eyes of one of our snipers.
When the game had finished loading the map again, it was at the exakt same time (or a few milliseconds before) I respawned, so somehow , the snipersight stayed on due to the quick load/change

yeah i think there are a few veiow bugs

when looking at an MG42 who is prone with teh gun setup and he dies you spawn with his veiw

(nUllSkillZ) #3

Has happened to me some days ago.
I’ve waited for respawn and followed a Covert Ops that has been sniping.
And as I’ve been respawning I have had the sniper sight.
Very weird.
First time in approximately one year.
So it seems that this is a very rare bug.

Very rare, annoying but kinda cool bug, really didn’t belive Nehle when he told me over TS about this… But i guess when u follow and covert while sniping when u wating for respawn it “locks” on the view… I do wonder if it’s the same with binoculars?

(Depth_Charge) #5

I got this on an smg once…sniper smg woo!

(Oxygen - o2) #6

mmmmmm, long range SMG :stuck_out_tongue:

(bacon) #7

ignores the incredibly stupid post above
This bug was in RtCW too, back then all you needed to do was change weapons…but it was fun to exploit

(Oxygen - o2) #8

ummm, thats not stupid

WTF is with you people?

i should NOT have to work my ass off you please you i should get respect and i might give you some!!!

(Padde) #9

Small solider… your reply was a bit off topic… maybe that’s why?

(DarkangelUK) #10

small soldiers point was having zoomed scope view and an SMG could prove handy. I’d say it’s very much on topic and not stupid at all. Apologies anyone?

(Red|Cell) #11

did etpro sort this problem out cos i remember i used to get it a lot when i started playing but i havent seen me smg scoped for months and months

(Padde) #12

Yeah i know  But i just love to piss off “me SO cranky” people

But Apologies? nah… leave that for the spineless bastards

(bacon) #13

That doesn’t change the spread, or the damage drop off. That makes a statement about long range smg as redunant as everything else he’s posted.

(Depth_Charge) #14

If you can see the enemy, with a smg, you can shoot enemies from at least the bridge up to the hill…looks to me like you guys are just standing behind Wils’ warnings in other threads and picking on him whenever he posts

(EvilBaga) #15

Now now ladies… :moo:

(Red|Cell) #16

then again padde and evil baga (and now me for this post) have posted a more “off topic post” then small soldier and im sure they will be left well alone

(Fusen) #17

ofc having a scoped smg would be very helpful anyone who says otherwise has obviously never tried to shoot someone on the other side of a long map, but then if you had a 1v1 in a corridor with scope you’d be oat so fucked

(evilsock) #18

I thought Small soldier (Oxygen) was non other than =Dark=CrazyNutter tbh - is that right? In which case he’s only 12

If that really is CrazyNutter then you should be a little careful about your posts - this place is still going to be around when your 15 and if you continue to map it’d be a shame to have been banned from all the important mapping forums for want of resisting the temptation to speak when there’s nothing to say

um, just to stay on topic - I haven’t seen this happen before, I feel like I’m missing out :open_mouth:
