installed RtCW last night

played through the single player

brought back a ton of memories and i dont know how i remembered every aspect of this game…

anyways… i fired up multiplayer and man i remember when this was the most complicated multiplayer game out… having to heal people… drop ammo for people… plant bombs

as i was playing it i couldn’t help compare it to ET… like “man i miss XP points” or “where’s the mortar class”

it was still fun but god ET is such a killer game compared to RtCW multiplayer

oh yeah i noticed something else… the mission where you have to sneak into the rocket base via truck is the exact same lay out as oil refinery… i mean the only thing that’s different is the textures and the base… the level deisgn is identical

Yeah, well I am temporarily in love with Scarlett Johansen after seeing Lost in Translation. It’s that lower lip…Who knew she had a smoking body too? Anyway, I played RTCW for months SP, cause I didn’t have a good internet connection. Still don’t, but I play over DSL at work. ET is my first experience with MP gaming, now I’m a hopeless junkie. I went back and tried RTCW MP once or twice, just couldn’t get into it after ET. Have you seen the Price of Peace website? Looks like this ET train is going to keep rolling for a while.

Omg, I just played 3 hours of RtCW SW with some friends, and it was sooo sweeet.
Tight maps (stock and some amazing customs) with non-stop action, and it feels like it runs smoother than ET for some reason.

(Sorry, it just had to be said. No doubt I’ll be playing ET again tomorow. (Or maybe WildWest. ) )

You’re right, it does feel smoother for some reason. Probably cuz of the smaller maps. RtCW loads way faster too. But I still love the ET.

Yeah, Fuel Dump is a reworked version of the Forest Compound level from SP too.

And Stage 4-1 (Kugahlstad) sp? probably inspired the “Escorting the vehicle” objectives in ET.

Well RtCW definitely is smoother and seems a bit more touched up and refined than ET, probably cuz of the lower requirements and smaller maps. And obviously, more faster paced game.

I love playing in the elite.clan.net server, (it’s a limited life Destruction server). Checkpoint Games work are pretty fun with limited lives. And of course, there’s always good ole Happy Penguin to fill my suicidal and high octane needs.

ooops fuel dump instead of oil refinery… i’ve been playing Raven Shield too much :o

ET’s engine has a higher minimum spec than RTCW as ET’s has been updated and modified. Hence why RTCW runs smoother.

I play both at 76 FPS (capped), and still notice a slight difference. Maybe it’s all in my mind, but I do know that other people feel the same way.

At least it isn’t like the public beta, that was as unsmooth as a game can get. :moo:
