Insert, home, delete, etc = jump

I have the medic call button bound to insert and for some reason whenever i hit any of those keys (ins, home, del, pgup, pgdn, end and I belive the arrow keys) it makes me jump. Unless there’s a hidden config, jump isn’t bound to any of those, just shift and capslock. Is there anyway i can fix this? Medics tend to get p/oed when i call for them and tap out at the same time :???:

Same thing for the multimedia keys for volume.
When I press the volume down button it also calls for a medic
and volume up also is go prone

Depends, im using the MS Wireless Multimedia Kb and all my volume controls work fine… it controls Winamp in game for me :slight_smile: but it has a problem with binds on the F Keys…

The Numlock key must not be on in ET. This causes all sorts of random and strange things to happen

if you use windows XP, and press 5 consecutive times shift or ctrl, you activate a function named permanent keys (dunno if is the english name, i’m translating from italiaan), that function let’s jump and ctrl key to be active even when u don’t tap them… maybe is this.

If could possibly be a conflict between the game’s setup of your keyboard and the keyboard’s “driver” if you have one of those “multimedia keyboards”.

Something to remember: If you are using one of those “multimedia” keyboards and you have all the keys functioning, you have spyware in your PC that is using your bandwidth and sending info about your online activities to the company that made the keyboard. You can learn more about this if you search the net. There is a lot of discussion about it. The worst offenders are the name brand PC’s (HP, Compaq, Dell) because they come from the factory loaded with spyware. Shoot that bastard!
Never buy a name brand PC. Never never never.

Those keys on such keyboards are operated by an executable program that runs constantly, not by a Windows hardware driver. I strongly suggest that you find the spyware and remove it (those keys will no longer function when you do). Get Spybot SDK. It is the best.

In the future, avoid those “multimedia” keyboards, or just do not run the ‘spyware installation CD’ that comes with them.

Turn on the F-Lock to access the function keys. If this is turned off, then the f keys are running shortcut commands (ctrl-p to print, ctrl-o to open, etc) which will fire whatever you have bound to control.

I think you’re talking about “sticky keys” in english, which i have turned off

Yes I have one but i turned off the driver long ago because it used up all my cpu, and Ive gotten rid of it long since…(dumb dell)

I have no driver conflicts or spyware or nothing
I have a logitech internet keyboard with a few buttons.
I have never installed any drivers for it.

most of the buttons work (throughout windows also in games) but only ET has problems with me pressing the volume buttons

F-Lock is for specific keyboards made by Microsoft. If you don’t have it, don’t worry about it. =)

Me too. Volume + does weapalt and Volume - makes me crouch.

It doesn’t bother me though, the keys still control volume, they just do other stuff at the same time.

hey for you it’s easy to talk
my volume down button does call for medic.
i have to press that button several times every time i start ET so i spam the game with ‘medic!’ every time i join.

volume up does go prone which doesn’t bother me much

maybe a “input locales” problem…

Try changing ur keyboard input… english/us whatever
