Insanely good? or hides their cheats insanely well...

(O2.iceman) #21

They’re not cheats, just above average players.

But as ^^ said,

  1. They’re both medics
  2. They’re playing against noobs

They don’t do anything that makes them look like cheats. I’ve gotten at least 1 headshot per kill for over 60 kills in a round before, it’s easy against noobs when you’re spawn camping them, leaning around corners, and shooting them in the back.

Just looked like a typical day on the pubs to me.

ok let me just add, ive seen the video, and it seems kinda wierd that his sprint never goes down, and he walks threw airstrikes and was not getting really hert, but the fact that his sprint never went down is wierd, like hw can hall ass and beat a shit load of people.

(rgoer) #23

I haven’t yet watched the demo, but I bet he might stab himself with a red needle right before these endless sprint sessions? Go figure.

(Abraxas) #24

The players on at that time werent the best, but I consider myself a decent player and I know the difference between owning noobs and just plain ownage. I have been through a lot of servers and have never seen anyone close to these 2. Some of their stuff is suspicious, but suspicious or not, they have mad skills. Sure they are meds, leaning around corners, big deal, I’d like to see them play again.

In Vanilla ET, the sprint bar isn’t properly updated when spectating/playing back a demo. Additionally, mounted weapons (the mobile MG42 and the mortar) are not properly displayed in the same situation.

etpro fixes both of these (and unfortunately, it’s not possible to fix these without updates on the client side.)

(Sick Boy) #26

Just good players owning some noobs imo.

Only suspicious thing in this video was the connection interrupted travelling, or was that connection interrupted for you taking the demo?

(SylverDragon) #27

Not sure what went wrong, but never saw an email with a request to host. Incidentally, if its still needed I went ahead and put it up on my server here:
http://dragon-tech.net/ET/2003-10-16-010629-oasis.zip
I’ll leave it up as a mirror until the end of the month.

As for the content itself, I’m currently at work and don’t have access to ET to view it.

(Demo) #28

Haha… absolutly NOT cheaters. Pretty good thought…

(Abraxas) #29

I chave come to that conclusion as well, tehy are good. A lot of you dont seem to understand, I geuss you had to be there. About the connection interrupted, it seeemed to be him, everyone else was fine.

(Cue) #30

ok well there still good, but can they do good jumps?

(Demo) #31

Bet they cant do the Old City Wall-jump… l00sers!

(ColdBackHAND) #32

Well I spec’ed [AGD] Ace last night or early this morning. He or she is just a good player.

First, yeah, after viewing the demo, my guess is that they’re just plain good. I suspect that they were able to see through smoke by reducing extra graphics detail, but I’m not really qualified to say that.

Second, the Oasis jump is the exact jump to which Cue was referring. Maybe they can’t do it, but they sure could frag you mid-air whilst you tried it.

Third, I love that coldbackhand can’t remember whether he spec’d Ace last night or this morning. That says it all. I love this game too man.

Fourth, Applefish really isn’t as bad as the demo makes him out to be. :stuck_out_tongue:

Fifth, what an [NW] centric crowd we have on this thread.

Sixth, where’s the freakin head-shot mod for ET? I need my practice!

Seventh, that’s quite a website you’ve got there Abraxas.

(Cue) #34

Bet they cant do the Old City Wall-jump… l00sers![/quote] oh yea!

(Abraxas) #35

I agree with PuP, and yes, that is an interesting site. But seriously, most of you guys talk as if you could take them, I doubt it. And yeah…I gotta practice my jumping more :frowning:

(Demo) #36

About the smoke… I know what situation you refers to and what he was doing was aiming for the fire from the opponents guns…

You cant see through smoke because of reduced graphics…

I’ve been lurking on this forums for a few months and never felt the need to post until now.

I watched the demo and I have used the ET aim bot out of curiosity.

I think he’s using an aimbot. Notice how he hides behind pillars and faces them? That is so the ballhack (it places colored balls over everyone’s head that show through almost everything.) will show up. It doesn’t work unless you face the wall at times. Notice how he could see every enemy perfectly no matter how obscured they were? He had the color enemy team (turns them all to one color to increase visibility) turned on to some bright color (e.g. red, yellow, blue.). Notice how his shots miss at first then always hit after the first try? You have to aim at somebody then hold an aim key down for the bullets to lock on.

A good is example is at 17:30 or so. He’s standing behind a pillar with enemies all around him. He’s hiding from enemies on both sides. From where he is at, he has a hill blocking his view partially. Then he hides behind the pillar and at the exact right time turns the corner (his view was blocked) and scores a head shot on a leaping panzertrooper from a good distance. I couldn’t see him. I tried loading the video with the outdated aimbot I tried months ago and you could sure see the ball over his head clearly.

Sure people can say he is just really good, but being really good and seeing through walls are different. PB doesn’t know about everything, it’s good but not perfect. There are people right now trying to hack around it I’m sure.

To sum it up. My opinion of this demo is that he’s using an AIMbot with ballhack on.

(Abraxas) #38

shooting through smoke at the flare from a gun is common sense, but when I was playing against Ace, he did say he took full advantage of tweaking settings.

(Watchers Eye) #39

How do you play these? I stuck the file into my ETmain/video folder and the ETmain folder (for good measure) and I see nothing in the Replays box.

(Wraith2k3) #40

it goes in the /etmain/demos/ folder.
