Fix the crafting system that was randomly ruined for no reason at all, then promised to be fixed 1.5 years ago? LOL NO!Fix / create solution for paying customers having 50+ useless / obsolete SE cards in their inventory, something that has been asked for for 1.5+ years? LOL NO!
Add more RNG that nobody has asked for, at all? YEP!
^THIS.
I’m not against weapon cases, those didn’t bother me in TF2 either.
BUT when Shoe says in the dev videos that they are working on a new loadout system, I expect a new loadout system, not adding weapon cases.

Another point that is not detailed : Does a skin lose “finish” by playing with it ? Let’s say i get a Pristine weapon skin. I play with this skin for 20 hours. Will it stay Pristine or can it drop to Worn ?Also, i don’t understand their tier system. What’s the difference between bronze, silver, gold and cobalt tier, and CoreSec, KMA and Royal Force skins ?
Does it mean i can only equip a weapon skin that is the same tier as the merc loadout card i’m using ?(EDIT, by re-reading the FAQ, it doesn’t seem to be that way) And how “do we choose” between those 3 dealers ?
I’d assume that your skin won’t become more worn as you play, it will probably be like csgo. Else all skins unboxed would be instantly factory new with a float of 0 and they would’ve said it if it were that way
The rarities bronze-cobalt are probably also like in csgo. Better skins will be more rare and higher rarity, so a case will have like (note: the numbers are random, it probably won’t be the exact same numbers, it’s just an example) 80% chance to have a bronze rarity skin, 15% to have a silver rarity skin, 4% chance a gold tier skin and 1% chance cobalt tier skin.
Bronze tier will probably be simple skins like camos without a lot of work put into them, silver will probably be slightly more flashy but still simple skins, gold will probably be skins that are designed for specific weapons so they look good on them and cobalt will probably be really flashy skins, designed for a specific weapon, perhaps we can get animated skins too? (note: again, this is just how I assume it will be)
Think of bronze as Mil-Spec tier skins (AKA blues like SCAR-20 | Grotto) in csgo and cobalts as Covert tier skins in csgo (AKA reds like AWP | Asiimov).
From what I understand from the FAQ, the KMA, Royal Force and CoreSec skins are going to be a skin name and probably have a “special edition” as their rarity (instead of bronze-cobalt). I’m unsure if they will have their own case or just have a low chance to be received in normal cases like special edition cards (or both).

Loadout system improvements are just not ready yet. Give it some time. Some info has been shared in the Reddit AMA thread. Just follow the thread and search for the word “loadout”. You should find a bit of info.

Based on this i assume that it will be brink like worn out skins and then some shinny ones. Kinda want to see those worn out weapon skins tbh.
Skins have expiration date? Wow, more scummy tactic into hunting whales and gambling addicts. Oh, it’s just more rarity variants with more RNG… still scummy…
I worry SD will get lazy with DB, much like Valve had become with TF2.
Why bother making more content if skins are the cash cows? I fear DB might slowly become the next TF2 to me…

Thanks for explaining it!
I’ve thought we got this cases instead of the loadout rework, now I see that the rework is still being worked on.
Considering this i’m happy with the update, more customization is always welcome!
I guess we have to see how this turns out before assuming stuff. keep in mind, that only they (sadly) have the big picture about what is still to come. maybe all will make sense in the end.
but I have to say, I don’t feel too hyped about this.
On a side note:
I was watching a replay of a recent ET match… damn, this game is just so good…
Elysium vs NoTY https://youtube.com/watch?v=OQ5BMR276H4
couldn’t sd make a remake of ET with similar mechanics, movement. one main gun, one pistol, stamina bar for running, power bar for abilities, 20/30s spawns, only medics can heal, only engies can arm/disarm/build, soliders have only a secondary for most of the time or they move slow as fuck… and the magical XP hunt to get 33% lower recoil.
and just better graphics for the millenials? charge 50 bucks for the game and rent out servers.

Damn now i want to play ET. Thank you very much.
And SD can allow this modification for rentable servers. I doubt they care though.

If these practices persist, SD absolutely needs to enable trading and more ways to break down/recycle our current cards. Nothing we spend money on has any remote sense of a tangible value; it’s all cosmetic gambling. Implementing trading and recycling will increase the value of an item and reward those who are willing to throw money at RNG. Even if you fail to get what you want, you may be able to trade or break it down into another form of currency that can be used towards another attempt at what you’d like.It has to be done. These models are not sustainable long-term with small playerbases. I’d rather them ditch the free-to-play and charge a mid-level price for the game than this crap at this point. I’ve been patient for a long time, but it’s really getting discouraging.
The current issue is, I really struggle to consider they even have enough players to sustain a rng based system, marketplace included. They need a significant amount of players to bring some good income, which is not the case right now. As I already said many many many times, I’d have better seen a pay what you want system which is not 20 bucks worth like the obsidian we got offered couple months earlier.
Chivalry Medieval Warfare offered itself a nice second life playerbase by only adding sdk, selling models for reasonnable amount of money then selling community models, and adding community maps in the official roaster.
After 2 years of living on steam, this game had more players still playing it, with more bugs and balance issues than dirty bomb currently has.
Either way, they did not implement stuff that was requested since day one, and they have bitten bigger than they could chew with systems that do not work with the reality of the playerbase dirty bomb has (Matchmaking, overall economy).

I tried playing ET myself, it’s a server mod junkyard. Constantly had to download something, and the main menu UI changing into cringy-edgy theme.
Too much to ask for vanilla gameplay?

Yeah well i have not played ET for few years but even then there were a lot of community stuff to download. Well i dont blame them. They are the ppl who dont want to let that game to die.

I’ve lost all interest in them now, but thank the whales for enabling all of this.So it’s 2.50 for 1 key, that will unlock 1 case that will contain 1 skin for 1 random weapon that can be applied to a single loadout card?
Oh yes, I’ve been waiting for this… yup, it’s all I’ve ever dreamed of…Why did I not expect to be disappointed…
Guess my fragment pile will be building up faster not paying for a fn key. nope you get my money for
Mesh change obsidians and maybe a trinket if it gives bonuses but im not shelling out 2.50 for every case just to get duplicates of the same skins. I survived this game with out different weapon skins.
Also wtf i still get stuck on ev(and teleported) and enemy objects.how was this more important over big fixes.

What did you guys actually expect when they announced weapon skins really ? Something like this was totally expectable.
When I read that the a new skin series are based on companies in the game I expected new series of loadcard rarities, using weapon companies from the game, suggesting that these companies are better than one another, filling us in on the hierarchy and lore of the game rather than the boring/standard Bronze, Silver, Gold, Cobalt rarity or the possibility of these being added to the boring Bronze, SIlver, Gold.
Like I mentioned in another thread The alienware and Logitech skin series of cards are literally just bronze skins with a unique weapon skin.
It’s pointless and redundant, want to see Dirty Bomb’s take on other loot systems> Take a look at their Loadout cards worked, kinda considering some were objectively better than others. my only guess is loadout cards being discontinued in the future in favor of this Counterstrike style skin series for both characters and weapons and doing something about the loadout’s augments.
@frostyvampire
@TitaniumRapture
Correction, Some weapon skins are meant to be rarer than others.
In the case of KMA (No pun intended) rarest is the M1A1
In the case of Coresec rarest is the Blishlok
in the case of RF it’s meant to be the Hollunds 880
Along with a weapon rarity, there is a weapon quality which applies as well, so you can unlock the Cobalt Hollunds 880 RF shotgun, but also have it in a “Scarred” condition.
The glossier, more ornate the weapon, the rarer.
As seen Bellow, using the KMA skin series as an example
Bronzes are clearly the Kek, Hollund and Smjüth & Whetsman .40.
Silvers are Ahnuld, Crotzni and DE 50.
Golds are K-121, Tolen, Hochfir
Cobalt is the M1A1
With RF My guess is
Bronze are Hurtsall 2k, Simeon. 357 and Empire-9, K-121
Silver are Kek-12, Br-16, PDP-70
Gold is Remburg 7
Cobalt is the Hollunds 880
With Coresec my guess are
Bronze are the M9,Hoigat .224 and Stark AR
Silver are the Mk46, Timik-47, Mp400
Gold is the Moa and Shar-C
Cobalt is the Blishlok
I have a crazy idea, why dont they just… let us buy what we want?
You know like “oh hey like this weapon skin, and now since i bought the thing i want, i can get more things instead of just getting boxes!”
