influx of cheaters this week in public games.

(Dux) #21

Sadly, this is true. I see at least 2 cheaters a day since the past 2 weeks (yep, I play a LOT). Most of those cheaters are below lvl 9-8, and have private steam accounts and/or 1, 1+ VAC bans. Wallhackers are the easiest cheaters to spot, but the rest of them have a really dumb behavior, poor knowledge of the game , and dreadful awareness combined with an “insane” aim (Suure that’s a pretty “logic” set of characteristics for a “pro” player. Git gud noob!! :expressionless: ). However, the thing that bothers me the most is not the blatant cheaters, it’s the people who unconsciously defend those hackers, give a @!%& about the game, and start throwing @$%& at you !!
And yes, I am too salty about the subject. :s
If you’re over lvl 20 I suggest playing on the min 20 servers. It’s a lot more intense and if a blatant cheater does make its way into it the people are aware enough to kick them.

Since starting to play again on the no rule servers I ran into a one blatant cheater named DELTED who advertised his “free week of cheats” then proceeded to head shot everyone. All it took was a vote kick start then telling the team over voip to press F1. The thing I’ve noticed about this community in particular is whenever there is a blatant we’ve been able to kick them with ease as long as you get their attention.
If only that were true…can’t tell you how many times there have blatant cheaters and the team didn’t kick the person so they could ride them to a easy win. (By blatant I don’t mean suspecting them of cheating, I mean all headshots and even using that kill everyone instantly with a pistol mod)

Happened to me last night. Had a lengthy discussion in game about it. We all knew he was cheating, even the other side. Their respones was: “report him and move on”. I was more exasperated by their unwillingness to kick him.

(Cletus_VanDamme) #24

I don’t usually buy into the hysteria surrounding cheaters but I think there’s something not right going on.

I just played a game where there was a level 17 Skyhammer on my team, the enemy swore he was cheating. He ended up going 71-28 or something like that, not the most impressive Stopwatch score but still getting heaps of kills.

The weird thing is he didn’t know how to throw ammo. I was following him knifing, hitting V22 etc, and he wouldn’t drop ammo.

I say in team chat, wow level 17 skyhammer (I’m not naming him here), drop some ammo.

He says ‘I’m not phsycic and I don’t know how to drop ammo anyways’.

Firstly I was V22ing, so I’d have an icon over my head. Secondly my primary ammo was empty so I’d have an icon over my head. And thirdly, who doesn’t know how to press E for ammo @ level 17?

I asked if he was playing on somebody else’s account, no it’s mine he says.

Weird.

I saw him as well.

I actually faced the damage hack just one time before.

One-shot killed by fully charged REVIVR’s BODYSHOT. My body just turned in to grey.

I think DB really needs advanced report system = also able to report at the lobby.

(MarsRover) #27

~2 days ago I saw 1 definite cheater (lvl6 skybro doing instant triple revolver kill) and another 70-80% - godlike tracking and instant 180 headshots. They were the first ones in months. Nothing since then. So yeah, either it’s just variance or a new cheat came out and was dealt with quickly.

(Jostabeere) #28

@blisteringOwlNest It’s nothing special, occasional bug reports and recordings of cheaters:

Also pretty ironic which comments I get under my videos:

Edited it the right way.

For the love of god, don’t go on that site. It downloads a shady .exe.
Please don’t show links that may harm other users computers or leads to possible hacks for the game. I have deleted the link. Thanks!

(asparagusMist) #30

there is defintely damage hacks and aimbots running rife.hope team get on this. takes seconds to find the free hacks on many sites for this game so obviously it is rife. as they are all working.

(Occult) #31

just give it a little time, they will be blocked, hopefully

(Matuno) #32

Just had one on my match, and had one yesterday who tried to hide it but caught when he didn’t see me spectate him.

(Mrarauzz) #33

Had a pal comment on my vid that he caught a cheater after the update so looks like they didn’t catch them all. Hopefully they will be caught u soon™

(Matuno) #34

Caught another one just now. Mediocre player, but speccing him showed that he would keep looking straight at enemies that are two blocks away.

Would’ve been two reports in one night, but a Vassili that was playing REALLY well with just 14 hours in DB and very few hours in any other games disconnected before I could properly spectate him.

Hacking is rampant.

(MrFunkyFunk) #35

Ever since I’ve come back to DB I’ve only met one cheater in 40h of gameplay on EU servers, a blatant one at that (headshoting a full team in spawn in a matter of seconds).
I expected a lot more, mostly because I’m heavily biased towards Nexon’s abilities & the f2p market/communities so in some way I’m pleasantly surprised.

I’ve been called one a dozen times already (“but hey you only have XX hours of gameplay, you fraud!”) and met a handful of players I’d consider “good” and who also were pointed at.
Some people should take a good look at their abilities and climb down their white horses before passing judgement.

I don’t know where you get that “hacking is rampant”, it’s nothing that alarmist.

It wasn’t a problem until before the ReV event. I get that “hacking is rampant” because at level 81, I have a fairly decent idea of what’s legit, and what’s too good to be true.

I get “hacking is rampant” because, as I’ve mentioned before, I don’t accuse. If something doesn’t feel right about another player, I spectate him for a while.

Aimbotters aren’t always easy to spot, but wallhackers are. Wallhackers tend to subconsiously look at what’s happening two blocks away, while there is no reason for a legitimate player to be looking in that direction.

Wallhackers don’t aim at corners, they aim at the person they see behind that wall, because it’s easier to mirror someone’s movement while already aiming at the right spot, than it is to aim at an open space and instantly track a player (you need to build up mouse momentum before you are right on).

TL;DR, after 16 years of gaming, I know the difference between a hacker and a normal player.

Basically this.

(NightingaleZ0) #38

Welp, hacker is pretty damn annoying. Just had a game with a very obvious one too.

(Amerika) #39

There were quite a few accusations of cheating this weekend that I saw which included people who were obviously not cheating. So cheating is on the rise or people’s paranoia or possibly both. I played quite a bit and I played on US and EU servers and never caught even a whiff of anybody cheating. But, again, accusations were flying and out of the norm on the servers I was on.

My sample size wasn’t that big despite my play time and I realize this is a personal observation so grain of salt and all that…but my god it was a bit crazy. @MTLMortis was even there for some of it actually. Also, it was nice to play some games with somebody from the forums. I run into people from time to time and it’s always fun.

(Havik_Gaming) #40

I have been accused of hacking several times in the same day, i mean this weekend i was told that i had been reported by an entire execution team. I didn’t realize why until i saw my score at the end with 26/0 while using Vassili. What can i say, Vassili has really been working for me.
