guys: why does a player have to land on there back? wouldn’t it make for better game play if the medic rolled the player on to his back , the did the defibs.

No, because he is a sitting duck whilst rolling the body over. This could well be enough to stop anyone from reviving and just starting to frag with their medic abilities as a bonus.
