I would wait for other sights impemetation before making any changes, but its true that they are very confusing for new players. I’ve seen many times guys using IS in close range duels - so painful to watch.
Increase Aim Down Sights Movement Speed.
I quite like the balance right now. I find it hard to pick and choose when to use iron sights which, after quite a while, top players will work out when is best to use them and not.
There was one weapon where the gun was all over the place though, think it might have been skyhammers? Is awful to use when the gun does this 
Wasn’t IS only ever meant to be used for distance shooting, give a slight spread decrease and also give a slight zoom to make far away players a smidge bit bigger and slightly easier to aim at?
I used it quite a lot in ETQW at close encounters. I wish DB to be similar to that. But that’s my stuck record on this forum 
I’m ok with the current iron sight in the game and the balancing of hipfire/ironsight (except for Arty).
But if I had have the choice, I would prefer to have no ironsight.
If the ironsights discussion is back on the board I vote remove them. Bored of games with 80-90% ADS gameplay.
I vote to either remove IS or keep it ineffective, so that it is irrelevant. More effective iron sights would mislead new players by suggesting that it is OK to just carry over their playstyle from other modern shooters… More players using iron sights would slow down the gameplay as a whole.
I am fine with having it for very long ranges, though.
You are probably thinking Stoker. Stoker player all day. His AK is gimped 
There seems to still be some misconception that people want COD or BF4 gun mechanics where hipfire is bad and ads is the only way to go. I believe what SD wants is a better iteration of hipfire vs ads. Right now ADS isnt really viable for even long range due to the fast paced movement. I dont think just the addition of scopes will make ads feel better. I still believe there needs to be a separate sensitivity slider for ads at least.
you can change the ADS sensitivity with the command setFOVsensitivityscale between 1 and -0.5
Yea thats not good enough. It also wont scale well with scopes and their varying FOV’s, unless we are only getting two scopes. =/
Actually it does, the hint is in the name, setFOVsensitivityscale, it scales with weapon independent FOVs.
True. Well here is the other foot of the logic. If it is currently lacking with the iron sight fov, what difference would it make with scoped fov.

Quoting me as “Closed minded ramblings” is a fairly cheap trick and is on a par with your constant pat answer that ‘old skool’ just doesnt cut it. You have an incredibly narrow view on what you think this game should be and moreover an opinion that somehow your view carries more truth. Try imagining that perhaps just maybe someone other than yourself has a valid point and work back from that.
As for the current IS implementation, it’s nowhere near as bad as you’re making out.

I have no issue with “old skool” what I do have an issue with is people using the age of something in order to validate its existence.
If I say that the respawn system is bad for A, B and C reasons the simple fact that “its worked for 13 years, noob -.-” does not mean it overwrites the issues and is as good of a system as it could possibly be. Actually, my whole ‘old skool’ argument is targeted at the nostalgic filled gamers that just want to relive previous games.
And… I have a narrow minded view is cute coming from someone that declared that IS is an awful system in general due to a PC Elitist assumption that Irons Sights where designed for console kiddies… When you have an issue with something try and actually explain your reasons and try your best to avoid assumptions…
All I want this game to be is popular and fun… Everything else to me is irrelevant and I am just giving my feedback like everyone else… Now, if I am too ‘New Skool’ for you, I do apologize.
The only thing that annoys me about IS is that on the rare occasions that I use, I press reload and once reloaded the view snaps back to IS. I’d prefer that hitting reload cuts you out of IS and leaves you out of it. Except from Kira I never use it, that may change once gun sights are added but then it’ll be rare. As for how it is just now, I think it’s working as it should and I’m fine with that.
So you’re happy when they’re so situational they’re next to useless? Don’t get me wrong, I prefer this to IS that are required as I firmly believe the only way IS can be viable in a game like this is to considerably nerf hip firing accuracy, movement speed, hp, damage over distance etc etc. If that doesn’t happen we end up with what we have now - novelty iron sights. My issue with this, other than wasting a bind and wall punching frustration, is it will confuse the hell out of the newer crop of fps players who are used to mandatory IS usage - they’ll give DB 10 minutes and proclaim it a noob spray and prey fps as they get circle strafed and made air tight by ppl who grew up playing Quake. IS usage in a fast paced hip firing fps is a self defeating balancing nightmare. I’ve yet to see it married successfully with hip firing in any fps and, beyond the most situational (i.e. pointless) level, doubt it can be. But hey, it’s a good way to sell some stuff.
Yup, because I don’t want to be forced to use them. The way I see it is that they’re there to appease those that want them for some bizarre reason, I’m a hip shooter at heart and quite happy to rarely/never touch IS unless I absolutely must. Keep them novelty, I don’t care, I also don’t care about others as well as it’s not my job to so i’ll keep my views selfish and geared towards myself 
I’ve seen it. Game called rekoil. Game isn’t popular at all by any means, due to a terrible open beta stage and even somewhat problematic launch and issues with servers later on. But the balance between hipfire and ADS is stellar imo and the game also has sprint strafing so in some regards it is even faster paced than this game.
The game has a quicker ttk which is one reason it is more balanced despite having fast speed strafe fights.
I think the problem in this game is when they made strafe dancing stronger in hipfire while not really impacting ADS at all. So in some regards, I think the point of this thread has some merit. But personally I would add a tad more inertia when changing directions. Movement speed overall is pretty good though. Just that one thing.
