I downloaded Wolfenstien from the enemyterritory.com website and the patch (2.60 or something) and everytime I try to connect to a server it says “et.exe incorrect version”.
Tried several servers and no luck?
Also, is there a server with no mods, just the basics so I don’t need to d/l stuff.
How do they effect gameplay? I just want to play the normal version.
There are some ET Main servers left, but most of them are ET Pro, Pub or similar. They don’t necessarily affect gameplay that much, depending on mod and what features admin has enabled/disabled. And if the server only has one mod running and no extra maps ect, it won’t take much time to DL it either.
The “incorrect et version” error most likely comes from etpro, which is a mod. As others pointed out, it means you need the 2.60b update.
2.60 etmain has a silly bug with kicking that makes it pretty undesirable for servers. Several of the popular mods can be set up to run very much like the original game. ETPro generally defaults to be like etmain, and avoids making drastic gameplay changes.
