In Your Opinion, Who/What is the BEST Medic?

So, as we all know, I am a hardcore fan of Phoenix, but that’s not saying that I don’t play Aura or Sparks. I don’t play Sawby at all, yet most people seem to prefer him as the OG gangsta medic, despite Aura being the F2P Queen of Utility. And not to mention we have Sparks, whose long ranged reviving prowess and mobility are something to be reckoned with. So what’ll it be? What is your hands-down favorite and best medic?

I’m assuming we mean overall best? In which case Sawbonez, just because that extra 10hp coupled which prevents one shots from certain oft-used abilities/weapons, the Crotzni/SMG-9, on top of reliable pocket healing is why he’s always a pick in top end play.

Phoenix wins.

His heal is most useful, instant healing for you and your entire flock - you are Phoenix god and rise from the dead to heal again and recommend eating fruit.

Phoenix is the strongest front line medic. His healing pulse is extraordinarily outstanding.

i only play medic when i have a support mission.

I think you cant say generally who is the best medic.

Aura is the best medic for example for defending chapel and bridge first and last objective. Sawbonez is great for being the pocket healer of a fragger, Phoenix is great, if your team has to do a push on , for example generator room last objective underground.

Aura is not so good if you have to move around a lot. Phoenix is a constant struggle against cool down. Sawbonez you have to rely on your team mates not to dogde your med packs (god! i cant describe the anger) and having the heal canceled by a bullet and worst self heal capabilities.

I dont know much about sparks, but I know it drives me crazy having killed someone only to have him revived by a Sparks behind cover. or jumping around a corner only to get head shotted by a Sparks.

basic team comp will have to medics anyway, medic is the most balanced class imo, every medic has something to show and loose

like look at aura, shit ton of healing but station is easy to destroy
sawbones can quickly heal chosen target, but can heal like aura
spork, can instantly revive people in middle of the fight, but can heal too much
phoenix doesn’t heal too much but his heal is aoe instant heal

there is no such thing as “best medic”

While I enjoy playing Phoenix the most, since I love more combat oriented mercs. And how Phoenix is probably the best one to grind support XP.

Each medic is it’s own thing, different playstyle, each suited for it’s own competetive or casual environment.

in competitive play sawbonez easily is the best all round medic.

Zappy gun and instant packs usually make my team live another day.

I wouldn’t say any particular medic is the best, but I think Sparks is the most rewarding when played well. If you predict someone’s death, you can rez them with full charge before they even hit the ground. It’s quite satisfying.

but really it depends on the map and if you are defending or attacking, oh and how well your teamplay is.

The saddest thing, I didn’t even mean to add that choice or the one before it. It kept adding another choice every time I hit submit poll. Kinda made me angry. Also shows how much of a :neutral: N00B I am.

Usually I’d say Sawbonez because he was the first Merc I bought, I had the luck to get an obsidian card for, he’s perfectly balanced and overall great fun. But I always had the problem to keep teammates which are under fire alive and not to be constantly out of packs.

This weekend I decided to switch him out for Phoenix with KE81 and…
It was amazing! I finally understood how the hochfir worked and made a lot of kills, and healed like the spanish god of life and flying across the map like the undying bird that I am. Even got the “Healing 3”-batch for the first time!
He’s my new go to medic.

I couldn’t decide between Phoenix and Sawbonez, but in the end i picked Phoenix, because:

  • He can heal more people at the same time, not just one
  • If he is the only medic in the team, self revive is really useful (if the team can prevent the enemies from gibbing him)

Aura is really good too, but i could only pick one, and she is not that versatile as the 2 i’ve mentioned.

I suck with sparks, so i don’t think she is the best. (and i think getting healed is less risky than getting revived, but that is just preference i guess)

Sawbonez is my personal favorite and is best in general, however, Phoenix is amazing in Execution due to the one life mechanic.
