all I have to say is, well done activision, id and splash…
Oh and :moo:
WUUUUUUNDERBAR!
After a long time, the modding-teams of the actually modprojects will say “Thank you”…
Download from my page… http://www.herrks-base.de/enemyterritory/ET_Source.exe (2,02 MB)
(NdK)
So… beautiful… words… cannot explain… should have sent… a poet.
:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Very bold move ! We thank you for that!
Soon this forum is filled with questions about how to compile the source
BTW it would be nice to have tutorial/Howto/FAQ on this one.
i doubt a tutorial would do it - anyway - big thank you to id - didn’t expect that to happen, started brainstorming already
well…
this is good news but i wish it would be sufficient for the GTV guys could make ET-TV… that is a huge gap in our community… the lack of ET-TV…
no netcode on this ‘SDK crippled edition’ therefore no et-tv
sux
w00t. And tbh about time
- just gotta wait for the hacks now… teh joy.
But! ET:Fortress then anyone?
Anyone interested, gimme a shout @ pgh@earthquakers.org…
tutorial: http://rtcwmods.d-e-sign.be/ they are for rtcw but most of them should work for ET as wel
This is not some crippled version. It is the game code. To make ET-TV, you need the engine code. Last I heard, Q3 engine licenses were still around $250,000. The guy who made gtv and wolftv had inside connections to get access to that.
Most likely the q3 engine will be open sourced in due time (as quake1 and quake2 were) but I expect that is some time away…
Hi,
downloaded the source and made a test-compilation.
I received several warnings but the files are build without errors. They seem to work.
Have you got the same experience or have you compiled without warnings?
Thank you in advance for your replies.
None of the warnings in the code are fatal, they basically are a leftover from us not having the code cleaned up before release. Sorry about that :uhoh:
See, it happens to everyone
Anyway, I see SD behind this move (IE I reckon they had to convince Activision to release it), so for now my luvin goes to them!
As an aside, what happened to djbob, he’s not on the user list anymore. I was searching for that ‘making tunnels’ thread he did because I wanted to thank him cos his method worked like a charm
A .zip file would’ve been nice.
Or at least an .exe that works under DOS so
I could use dosemu.
Guess I gotta use this other system with the piece of shit operating
system on it in order to even start browsing the code on Linux.
SiliconSlick (most appreciative of the release but hates it when companies unnecessarily further perpetuate Bill Gate’s monopoly)
I changed my name by deed pole. I dont recall the thread you are talking about thought :o
Yeah it was a fair old while ago, that’s how I noticed no djbob posts - I did a search on your name and it came up blank
Thanks all the same
With VS.NET 2003, i never got warning with default project settings. But if u active check type cast with smaller type u got effectivly some warnings. type cast to smaller type can be also a source of potential errors… Well I’m a pure programmer and solve all warnings with a better soluce by adapting the code.
Regards
@[RW]Fred:
I used MSVC++6 with project settings set to release (as mentioned in the read me).
With project settings set to debug I haven’t had any warnings.
But RR2DO2 has told the reason for the warnings some posts above.
