It feels difficult to critisise when it is free – but that wasnt our fault - we were ready with our wad when it was to be an expansion pak or a purchasable stand alone game. And loads of ppl have obviously put huge effort into it. :drink:

Nice idea - awesome maps - excellent atmosphere - has huge potential…but…

However f00kin unplayable as a MP due to the massive TK’ing that I am subjected to when on ff-on servers.

There is no gaming fun in being killed by your own side 50% of the game. :banghead:

I cant go 2 yards without some bastard TK’ing me … if it aint a stray mortar round - it’s a panzern00b, if it aint an airstrike - it’s someone making the excuse that they thort I was an enemy covert op … yesterday, which took the buscuit - was when I was avoiding mines laid in a useless part of the map - some twit on my team runs thru em - killing us both. :bored:

I remember RTCW right back at the beginning with the very first demo (Beach) it was bad - but it wasnt THIS bad… The TK’ing is f00kin nutz …caused by the addition of game elelments and weapons which just seem to bring the TK’s on.

So I dont , in a fit of pique, uninstall - I’m staying on ff-off servers in the hope that one day the situation improves - also going back to RTCW as I, ironically, feeling safer on ff-on RTCW servers.

A suggestion to all server admins to turn all their servers to ff-off until ppl have got over their time experimenting - and actually start team-playing again. :eek2:

how is anyone going to get better by playing on ff-off servers? that sounds like it would have the opposite effect. then everyone would be sprayin’-n-prayin’ instead of playing with control. its not always the other guys fault, many times ive seen someone just run into friendly fire playing rambo.

I haven’t seen many people intentionally TKing (yet, I’m sure the TK-clans will be along once they figure out how to play the game).

Perhaps you might try visiting some other servers?

I’m with raag: ff off is bad, because it teaches you the wrong reflexes.

well they’re doing Rambo right now arnt they ff-on or not – but wot I am saying is - the fun aspect is missing for me, as u can see in my previous post - at least on a ff-off server I cant get tk’d and have the experience spoiled for me allt he time.

it’s either that or I’ll just stick with wolfy

I run 7 ET (and adding 3 more today) ET servers, all ff on. While tking is an issue at times, it comes no where close to the problems you indicate. Dont mean to criticize your playing style, but my guess is that at least 50%, if not more, of tks are the fault of the person being tked. I can only speak for myself, but there is no way that I would change my servers to ff off for this type of game. To me, it’s rids the game of any serious attempts to be careful with your game play.

I really don’t think FF Off should even be an option with ET. I don’t know about any of you, but it can be extremely difficult to get anything accomplished when you have a few level 3 or 4 Field Ops defending objectives. They can sit there and call airstrikes all day (and constantly) without worrying about tking the 2 mobile MG42s camping/defending the objective! I filtered out all FF Off servers from my searches… I’d rather deal with a couple tks than not have a decent fighting chance.

Anyone ever play Rail Gun as axis on a FF Off server? :banghead: Especially worse if you have a lot of noobs that just won’t attempt to rush out of there and decide to defend our spawn! :bash:

i personally think that ff-off servers are just pitifull…
it’s plain boring there, the most fun thing to do is to run over the mines your teammates placed… but besides that, there’s just the whole interesting part of et missing. You can order an artillery strike and then everybody can still stand right at this place without getting hurt… it’s impossible to kill/revive as a medic… sure, sometimes i get tked by some stupid teammate, sometimes i tk somebody… but that’s just part of the game, teaches you not to be stupid… and this ain’t cs, its et, and thus needs to have ff on

I see the servers in ya URL — I’ll give em a try out.

That other bit is a bit of a cop out seeing as I dont get this problem this bad on RTCW servers with ff-on - playing style seems to be ok there. That’s right!! it’s easier to blame the person with the complaint - if all else fails we can all blindly contradict each other and fail to look facts in the face.

Why not have a look through these boards - the ones for RTCW.co.uk and Planet wolfenstein and count the amount of TK complaint threads…

I couldnt play on a ff off server I just find it 2 silly. Lucky for me on all the servers i have played a lot of them randomly picked i have never come across tk’ing like that.

With this game being free your gonna get alot of new players on what have little experience ,so at the moment i think you will find TKing is happening more than on RTCW,I do think as time goes on this will become less of a problem.I have also found there are some servers better than others,I play on 2 especially what i have found to be for the majority filled with experienced players,I ping around 150 and over on these servers but i find the quality of game i get there is alot more intense and team work based and also find alot less tks happening on it.
IMO there are already non password servers out there already were you will find a really good quality game,you just after find them.

To be fair you should count the threads started immediately after RtCW was released, I’m pretty sure there were a lot of TK threads as well!

PPl will learn, at the moment there are just these thousands of neewbs running around but they’ll a) turn to better players or b) leave the game again.

Tk isn’t really a problem if you keep your head on straight and work with the team. Get behind the guy with the panzerfaust, not in front. If you hear that charge up, run away.
