Important Developer Question

(Jess Alon) #1

Will Brink be Kinect compatible?

(Schwarzeis) #2

I don’t work for Splash, but you know that, Jess :stuck_out_tongue:

But here is what I think:

I don’t think BRINK is compatible nor functional with Kinect, wouldn’t it be pretty weird having to mantle, slide or vault over something to make your character do it in-game? Or even wall-hop?

And how would the shooting work? There are alot of movements that needs to be done, unless I’ve gotten the whole Kinect thing wrong and you can use your controller at the same time as moving your whole body…

(Jess Alon) #3

I was thinking I could scream with rage to make bullets fly out of my gun.

(Schwarzeis) #4

That sure would be something :stuck_out_tongue:

But talking over the microphone while playing with you and your Kinect (if it was possible) would be a bit… Yeah…

(Jess Alon) #5

I could thrust my pelvis back and forth really fast simulating me trying to coax the bullets out of the gun. And for a grenade I’d do an over hand lob with my hand. To pick what grenade I’d call it out before I throw it.

(Schwarzeis) #6

I think you got a bright future ahead of you working over at Microsoft, Jess :stuck_out_tongue:

(Jess Alon) #7

I appreciate your deep confidence in me.

(Schwarzeis) #8

Don’t believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you

(Jess Alon) #9

Ok now you’re giving me the heebly jeeblys.

(Protector) #10

Maybe you two could get eachother on msn? or at very least exchange numbers…

(Jess Alon) #11

I don’t even know what you’re talking about.

Edit: First of all I wasn’t the one that got creepy. And it sounds like you’re jealous. Maybe you should hit him up.

Why does no one ever search for anything these days… ever… at all… ever. If only there were some big search engine type thing that searched lots of websites for you… that’d be awesome!

“I think these motion controllers have amazing potential for shooters, but perhaps not in the way people might immediately think (i.e. controlling motion),” Wedgwood told CVG.

“Perhaps we’ll think about that in the future, but we don’t have any plans for implementation in Brink.”

Les ****ing sigh

(wazups2x) #15

Motion controls are nothing more than a gimmick.

(RAAAAAAAAAAGE) #16

Are you suggesting the Wii is just a gimmick? How dare you.

In saying that the PS Move is a complete and utter JOKE.

Im so glad SD didn’t incorporate any of that stuff in Brink.

If he doesn’t then I will. The Wii is just a gimmick.

Mr “I appreciate your deep confidence in me” If that ain’t f a g talk i’m not sure what is… LOL

(Jess Alon) #19

Gosh did no one realize I was kidding? What would be cool is something like this though.

Implementing head tracking so that subtle head movements enabled you to actually peek around corners and even experience a depth of field in the game so you do not under estimate jumps and things like that could be extremely useful in a game like brink in which the range of terrain around you is an extremely tactical thing.

(DarkangelUK) #20

I wish the game would come out already so we can get some proper discussions going, instead of people feeling the need to fill the void with inane, pointless threads.

Fair enough you were joking… it was a crap joke.
