I'm starting to get sad about pc games.

VAC is bad and most server admins are retarded. I see cheaters every day in css, but why does it matter? I didn’t play css for public and any good game has a 3rd party anti cheat, which works well.

A game i’ve been playing for a while now “Global Agenda” is a bit like TF2 but it’s easier to carry a team in it, they don’t use a good anti cheat and the people that get banned normally have had a video sent in of them playing [no demo feature so it’s awkward].

The thing that worries me the most is when i got banned from Global Agenda for being too good aka “cheating” when i wasn’t, i did however get unbanned after a month, in that time i had sent 15 emails and even uploaded videos of me from real life. Most developers don’t understand the competitive side of games and how good players can get, i honestly don’t think we will ever see anything like cs1.6 or quake again, just because it doesn’t appeal to the masses.

Or call of duty 4, the last great game to use the quake 3 engine, everything after that was a poor imitation.

Sticking to competitive FPSs that I’ve played for prolonged periods (games with A in parenthesis = I’ve been server admin/op).

Halo PC (nothing, then the aimbot came out and killed it good. an anti cheat came out, but it was too late…). (A)
TF2 (VaC) (A)
Killing Floor (VaC) (A)
ET:QW (punky)
BF2 (Punky)

Tried all the obvious major titles too, but didn’t spend much time with most of them so can’t really comment on the state of things with those (CoD, W:ET, etc…).

Then a bunch of console games.

Hmmm no wonder you’ve not seen many hackers in your 6 years, i know plenty of ppl that play those games and hav’nt heard em bitch once about hackers, guess it’s my favored games that attract hackers. call of duty being my only love simply coz of the mouse input response. cod attracts hackers in droves but punkbuster busted them most of the time, then in mw2 VAC came into play and the hackers were in hog heaven coz they knew how to cercumvent it by not injecting anything, where as punkbuster can pick all hack methods up.

PS - I made the comment in regards to VAC served titles, not other games. I’ve seen more than 3 hackers in my 6 years of gaming, ofc, just not with VAC. It seems (to me) to hold them off very well, in my experience at least.

I suppose for the most part VAC works like any other anticheat, i just don’t agree with deayed ban system under the pretense of it ensuring hackers dont know what got them banned, of course they know ffs, it was the hack they used, for goodness sake just instanban them, don’t piss about, just get ****ing rid of them on the spot. thats all the community asks.

Allthough if they could ban you via your MAC address that would be funny as hell, i’d like to see anyone get past that system.
