I'm begging you, Splash Damage. Please let us Obsidian Vengeance buyers get what we want.

(SzGamer227) #1

When I saw that Stoker was in the lead at the start of this week, I freaked out with excitement and sank $15 on the Obsidian Vengeance pack so I could have a badass Obsidian Stoker card, something that I would praise and cherish and be proud showing off. Something truly amazing to make full use of and show my support for the game.

Now Proxy is in the lead, and I am utterly terrified that I wasted that money for a card that will go with a merc I only play for missions. The patronizing race between Stoker and Proxy for who gets to be Culprit is tearing me apart, and I (and most other people who bought the Vengeance Obsidian Pack) will be devastated, disappointed, outraged, etc. etc. by the results of the Culprit event, no matter who wins.

The race to become culprit has been fun, and the Special Edition Culprit Card should be unique to the most played merc. But we paid good money for an Obsidian Card, and to satisfy only 28% of the player base who paid legal tender for the card is a terribly great way to stir up bad feelings among Obsidian Vengeance buyers.

We played your Suspect game.

We paid for an Obsidian card so that we could show off our dedication to Dirty Bomb.

Please eliminate the possibility of getting an Obsidian loadout for a merc we won’t play.

Let us pick which Prime Suspect merc we get the card for.

This is a cry for help. A plead for a solution to a conflict that is plaguing the people that appreciate your game the most. A conflict that is dividing the more dedicated portion of Dirty Bomb players and will leave the majority envious and disappointed.

Do the kind thing. Let Stoker fans have an Obsidian Stoker card. Let Proxy fans have their Obsidian card. Let Fletcher fans have their prize. Let Vassilis get what they want, too. Let the Culprit win the exclusive Culprit loadouts, but let the hallowed premium Obsidian case free from the shackles of uncertainty and inevitable regrets.

Please, Splash Damage. Do something nice for the people who dedicate themselves to your game the most. <3 <3 <3

TL;DR
Splash Damage, follow your moto: Don’t be a dick. Dont let down 72% of the playing majority. Please no shotgun proxy.

PROXY with SHOTGUN SHITGUN = RIOT???

WHO AGREES

This would indeed be the best way to ‘please everyone’, but who said that pleasing everyone was SD’ intent?

You assume nobody is using Proxy + Fletcher or Proxy + Vassili or Proxy + Stoker and doesn’t care which one it is.

@Ardez
ofc haha, fair enough

It’s ok for the the buyer to get the merc he/she chooses for the remaining suspects?
What if my favorite suspect didn’t make it past his suspect week?
What about the possibility for a Skyhammer or Aura obsidian?

The whole point of the event is to reward the most popular merc with a unique obsidian.
There are people keeping mercs they prefer in their squad to contribute to getting the skin for them.

While I’d also prefer to get the obsidian for anyone but Proxy, as I dislike most of her loadouts and I see at least 4 of them in squads every game, it doesn’t mean I should now suddenly be able to PICK my own suspect just because I paid for the product.

You knew exactly what you paid for, it’s like buying an elite case and asking to pick the merc you like to get that loadout, lets say you were lucky enough to get a cobalt, but for the merc you’d never even play.

I also spent over 300k credits just to try to get a Phantom loadout and I got 4 Rhino ReV skins, a merc who I will never ever be playing more than those 28 minutes I’ve spent trying him out. Yeah, I hate it, but I can’t complain as I knew what I was getting myself into.
RNG is RNG, I hate it but there’s nothing else really to spend credits on.

I’ll be super pissed if it’s ANOTHER shotgun Proxy. Then again if they give us a Hochfir loadout and some how make it the KE21, most of the Hochfir lovers will be pissed too.

But then again, I bought into the obsidian knowing it was rng, so I’ll just take what I am given.

Actually I lie, because I misread the thing when I bought the obsidian thinking the obsidian was for Aimee, but eh such is life.

(neverplayseriou) #9

Ehh even if they don’t let us choose what we want they can expect a howl lot less money next event.

(ImSploosh) #10

More RNG within the RNG of the RNG’s RNG.

(Sinee) #11

I badly want Vassili but I know Splash Damage is determined to fuck me up the ass so I don’t see any point.

(RyePanda) #12

If proxy wins, there will be 3 cards for her. 3. THREE. While stoker would have 0. The whole event was skewed in her favor because she’s an engineer which is not given at the start, while stoker is a fire support which everyone already has one of.

(Randomdeath) #13

@RazielWarmonic @stayfreshshoe pls

(Randomdeath) #14

Lots of people are determined to fuck you up the ass, thats how the internet works. I dont mean this in a sexual way, i mean it like you said it about SD. If you dont like getting anal by every game dev out there then dont play games. Marketing isnt what it used to be, and i think the louder we get about it, the more press we generate and therefore more profit for the buggers up top. Just get the game that Dirty Bomb should have, could have, would have been. Overwatch. Chaos, Fast paced chaos, free heros off the bat and no 3-dick-only-squads, while powerful weapons and abilities nothing is unbalanced because theres always an equally powerful counter… Dirty Bomb is fun but its dying

(Jesus) #15

Yeah dont forget that a good part of proxy players are probably people who didnt even bought the obsidianthe obsidian card should be determined only by those who bought i dont see why people who didnt even bother to buy it should have an influence on what this card will be
Anyway i played overwatch the whole day and didnt even think about DB once they can stuff their shitty proxy cards and their infinite beta game far up where I think now I probably wont play the game anymore nor give them any hope to see my money again if they dont change their which they probably wont.

(NetflixandKill) #16

The amount of entitlement in this thread is nauseating. We have NEVER gotten to choose what merc we get from a case. The only way to guarantee a card for a merc is tradeup. People who bought the obsidian case should have known they had no way to choose what card they get. You want to choose your merc? Campaign for them. Get everyone to put them in their squad. #TeamStoker.

(Jesus) #17

@NetflixandKill You’re just silly this forum active population represents like maybe 5% of the total playerbase you campaign won do shit.

How ReV could’ve been infinitely better:
Week One Rotation is Proxy, Vassili, Nader, and Flecher.

All noob mercs are solved, allowing other mercs to lead other weeks.

Newbs would still be playing Proxy on week 5…
