If event cases are working as intended and random, then how is it...

(doxjq) #1

Week 1, my very first game. I got an event case with no boosters applied. A few of my real life friends who play the game also got a case on their very first game with no boosters. Many others on these forums reported the same thing, getting a case on their first game, and nothing else for the rest of the week.

Today, on my second game, which was my first full game as I joined the first one mid game, I got an event case. My best friend who I play the game with every single day also got a case on his very first game today as well, and so did one of the guys in my old team from a few weeks back called Aeol. Another one of my friends from Quake Live (@Borganism) also got a case today on his first game. Many others seem to be reporting the same thing as well.

Sorry but “working as intended” and “random”, I’m not buying it at all. I’m not salty btw, I now have multiple event skins and they’re actually good skins so this isn’t a complaint just in case someone tries to use that argument, but since so many people are reporting this first game case I seriously can’t believe there isn’t something going wrong with the way these cards are being distributed.

I only play this game with like 20-25 people all up. The odds that one of us is to get a case in our first game are astronomically high, nevermind 5-6-7 (possibly even more, I didn’t even ask all of them) of us in both weeks, as well as many others on these forums.

Ok this is honestly not right. Another friend of mine on steam just messaged me saying he just saw my post.

“Myself, rikson buddy, insom, greg and cammocablamo, we all got cases on the first game too lol.”

Someone needs to clarify something here. This is not random and not a coincidence.

You don’t understand it. They did not communicate properly what they mean by “random” and working as “intended”.

(kopyright) #4

I guess they want to calm the waves stirred up from all the negative feedback SD received after the last stream by throwing out cases left and right now.

(Jasper) #5

@RazielWarmonic @stayfreshshoe i´d like to hear something about that from SD.

(doxjq) #6

I do understand what they meant, but what I am saying is that is a load of crap. There is no way this many of my friends all get cases on their first games both weeks and nothing else. The odds of one of us getting a case first game should be near impossible never mind nearly 10 of us.

(Jostabeere) #7

I played 50 games with 10 boosters before I got an event case. So yeah. Whatever, we were wrong and just misunderstood the event they prepared for weeks.

(Jasper) #8

i played about 80 hours this week and i dont got any case at all

(BananaSlug) #9

it doesn’t work for me like that…

Oh, I must’ve been too subtle. They probably tried to stealth-fix the drop rate after so many complaints and messed up RNG even more. And again, they will just tell us we are stupid and don’t understand the concept of RNG.

(Jasper) #11

they dont fix anything its just a bug like the droprate and i dont think they will talk to us about that in this forum.

(doxjq) #12

Yeah but I had this in the first week @OmaGretel, and so did many of my friends, that’s why I don’t think anything was changed.

I don’t know any way, I’m just speculating, but it’s worth the devs looking into. The odds are way too low for this to happen two weeks in a row.

(Occult) #13

67 new leads and counting, doubt ill see a case for this event.
its cw all over again

(kopyright) #14

The three of us each had a case dropped for us yesterday evening within a short amount of time. Something smells fishy if you ask me.

(Maverix) #15

We may be living in the parallel universe where RNG actually manages to give everyone a case drop on their first match for week 2. It’s a very small chances, but it’s still possible.

(kopyright) #16

Very improbable. But maybe someone at SD has a Heart Of Gold.

(Borganism) #17

last week I ran 4-5 boosters for 4 days, 9 boosters for 2 days and I gave up and bought a 10th and finally got a case after 2 games.

This week I played with no booster and got a case after my first full match. I have no received any regular cases after paying for a couple of hours tho when I normally get around 3.

(blonk) #18

It could all be coincidental, but my experience nearly exactly mirrors yours. None of the folk I regularly play with got a single case during the first week regardless of booster count, but yesterday nearly all of them got a case within games of each other, myself included. Tinfoil hat time!

(feigenstaub) #19

same experience here…

Any of you who got guaranteed event case in their first couple of Week 1 games, did you happen to buy Skull trinket? I did, so did 1 other mate of mine, and we both got case. Me at 1st game, he at 2nd.
