the bots cap points in domionion.
without bots it would maybe be very empty.
btw tf 35 euro on f2p currently.

I’d like there to be an easier way to distinguish between bots and humans as humans are the bigger threat. Maybe there is and I didn’t see it, only managed to get a quick go last night. Really enjoyed the movement, would like to be able to jump on an empty map and see what’s possible.
The bots in Titanfall are rather dumb. I was expecting them to follow me once I got into a certain radius (but then you would get ownership battles from other players). Not sure I’d want them in XT unless some kind of dota mode was added, I wouldn’t want them just sitting there with massive targets on their heads like they do now in TF.
For a dota style mode, maybe you could have your own personal set of minions that you could give simple commands to (stay / follow / defend point C etc.)
For Dota style: Riot game mode! You’ve got panicking civilians running into an opposing stream of panicking civilians.
same. the easiest way currently to tell is by movement. they dont jump, nor have jetpacks.
you can hack the enemies bots and build an army and have them follow you around. its hilarious (they’re still useless)
I really don’t like titanfall. It just feels so extremely easy to play. After 3 hours of playing i don’t think there is much more potential to become better… But i fear thats the thing most people want.
I heard quite often people complaining that Xt is spray and prey? But wtf? Because they cannot track a opponent longer then 5ms? Even as i don’t like the current spread i would never say Xt is spray and prey. Any suggestions solving this problem?
oh 1 good think for titan fall. With config tweaking fps never drop below 120 with my GTX 480. nice
So here is my opinion on Titanfall after playing a few hours:
Titanfall is best described as a mix of different games like Armored Core, Brink, CoD, … put all together.
It’s a game which is aimed for casuals on console, mainly players who are familiar with ‘nowadays’ shooters but want some variety.
There is no server browser and also the menu looks very consolish. You see how much their focus lays on casuals when you take a look at the super dumbed down awards such as “Playing Titanfall for 1 hour” or “Drop in 10 Titans”, only to make the possibly worst player feel like he achieved something without any actual effort. Unfortunately gunfights suffer the same fate. They feel like CoD fights where you die within 1sec and the most annoying thing is being forced to use IS 100% of the time! I seriously laughed when I first saw the ‘aimbot pistol’ so that’s another idicator of a console game here.
The waiting time in-between rounds lasts longer than the actual playing time, but I think that’s due to the Beta state.
One of the biggest weaknesses especially in regard to long-term motivation are the game modes itself: TDM and Conquest (BF). I think there isn’t a more casual mode than TDM where you don’t have to think much but just keep shooting on everything which moves. And the Conquest mode feels more or less the same. Could be entertaining at the beginning for a few quick rounds, but after a while it will just get boring.
The best about it is probably the movement (although it isn’t as skilled as in past SD games) which doesn’t only play very well but also fits perfectly into the universe and makes fun to use. Another good aspect worth mentioning is the overall good balance between inf players and Titans.
Furthermore I seriously feel sorry for everyone who laid all his hope into this game being the next big esport success, but it’s clearly not and also won’t be.
I myself won’t buy the game, because it has no focus on competition and the game modes get boring very fast. Even when some of my friends will pick it up, I exactly know they will only play for the first few weeks and drop it then. Titanfall is not a game where I could see myself playing for many years.
Nevertheless the already existing hype could make this game a good selling one, especially on consoles.
The ‘aimbot pistol’ is what I call dumbed down console noob sh!t.
Playing against very easy bots sounds promising! Should they just be there to make you feel skilled or do they fulfil an actual purpose?
I don’t see much point in explaining to you how Dota style games work, and why NPCs are both necessary and desireable in such games. If you don’t already know, you should be able to figure it out on your own through googling or playing Dota 2 or a similar game.
Nothing i’ve saw so far makes me think this is anything other than CoD with a twist. Adding in bots is the ultimate in making you feel good.
That said, not played it so if anyone has a spare key I’ll actually try it
You just miss the small detail Xt being a FPS game with a linear objective style mode. So no idea how bots should fit in there…
Yep, that’s exactly what I mean! Making the worst little console player feeling super skilled and mighty. Sadly that’s what most players nowadays want…
Played TF for some days now.
CONSOLE FPS.
Bots are dumb as ****, and even if they wanted to make this “moba-ish” … they are just senseless. U cant get killed by them unless AFK.
Rounds are EXTREMLY Short
Gunplay is boring: Ironsight -> No Recoil , No Ironsight -> Random Spray and Pray …
Titans are nothing special, u can spam them every 2mins and they kill u in seconds.
There are no real fights… a showdown is finished in 2 secs if you’re not in your titan
u CAN NOT SEE grenades
NO FEATURES AT ALL TO MAKE THIS GAME WORK (SOMEHOW) FOR COMP. GAMING
2 Maps in beta, the “big one” is unbalanced as ****.
Another game that lost its potential for this dumb “NEXT GEN OMG OMG”-console hype.
The only thing that SD can learn from is the movement system, which is great. The rest sucks and is for 14 years old console FPS kiddies.
I think SD can learn a bit from the maps as well. And source framework > UE3.
I think it’s funny that a console port not only moves faster but also smoother than a multiplayer only PC game. Developed by developers who were around when Q3, UT2k3 etc were all hot new titles.
Keep making it more and more handicapped for the casual crowd. They’ll fall asleep playing and switch to TF. -_-
the funny thing is people have started to compare Titanfall without the titans to Brink
the maps will really make Titanfall work while staying accessible
I don’t even get in titans because they’re so slow. I just set them to AI mode and go running around at crazy speeds shotgunning people
this game is neat since it lets you play it like CoD if you want, but it also has the insane mobility which I am honestly shocked made it in for such a console-oriented game.
it’s kind of like light vs. heavy in Brink, but it’s based more around playstyle instead of what class you are
