i dont know why you bothered honestly. that was a horrendous attempt at a troll lol :stuck_out_tongue: i had to read it 3 times to make any sense of it
I first thought I would ignore this obvious flame bait. But I decided that I would respond. You are a douche bag for that post and the implications. You know nothing about me. How dare you make such stupid and outrageously slanderous statements about me.

I am setting you to ignore so I don’t have to deal with such trash on this forum.

Social issues in games are appropriate content for a gaming blog. What conclusion are we supposed to draw when you say it makes a site ****ty?

(Senethro) #223

Not an attempt at a troll at all. Calling social issues “clickbait” is a common dogwhistle word for internet bigots to dismiss things they feel don’t belong in the young white male status quo.

(shaftz0r) #224

sweet mother of god. go back to lib studies, and leave the flamebait arguments out. second time in the matter of a page that somehow political opinion gets thrown into a gaming conversation.
I tried the full now at a friends place and must say I’m glad I didn’t buy. There aren’t any new modes and the rounds are so short that even the casual players won’t be amused I assume. 90secs waiting time in-between EACH SINGLE MAP, are they serious? Not to mention the missing server browser…

Typical casual console game, so nothing for me.
yes this sums up TF pretty much.

Hardpoint is the only game mode I enjoy, well CTF is also “ok”.
In all other modes you get rewarded for camping and K/D bitching.

Its my " I play it when i come home from work, because its comfy"-game. Unlike xT I dont have to wait till a server is full / or everybody leaves after one round.

…and…
TF is almost bugless and I dont have to run around with low fps.

On TF, I have found the winning combo for a fast paced gameplay:

 • SMG CAR + Counterweight (reduce a lot the spread).
 • The stim for the speed impulsion.
 • The Run N Gun Kit, to be able to shoot during the sprint.

Really fun and efficient. I don’t use ironsight and move a lot during the gunfights.

Same  It’s pretty much what I try and do in CoD or BF or any other modern shooter too. Years and years of trying to replicate RTCW/ET gameplay.

I use the CAR often since hipfiring with my current rig setup is easier on the FPS than ADSing (can’t wait to get my gtx 560 back from replacement).

But the ADS on it has a lot of horizontal recoil so it is a trade off I feel. Its very good for mid-close range hipfires though.

I use parkour over run n gun since I just love launching myself what seems like 30-40 yards at a time.

this, and i also use the bolt action too on occasion

yep, this set up + movement speed burning card are really fun to play.

TF will be fun until D3 exp. comes out :3

(tangoliber) #231

I like TF’s movement. I’m not sure how deep the rabbit hole goes…(maybe I’ll master it quickly…maybe I"ll never master it… maybe there are glitches yet to be discovered that will create a whole new strafe-jumping-esque phenomenon.)

Right now, I feel like I need a lot of practice to move fluidly. The best example I can think of is the small windows on the sides of buildings… When you are hurdling at them a high speed after stringing together a couple of wall jumps, it can be hard to fly right through it, without getting slowed down, or blocked by the face of the building. In a stroke of Flappy Bird, you have to do more than adjust at the last minute…you have to make sure your previous couple of jumps are timed correctly.

Being able to consistently hurdle through tight spaces is probably going to take a lot of practice.

There are two things I really enjoy in Titanfall: movement and level design. But more than anything, Titanfall should learn from Quake Wars and Brink. Not the other way around.

(shaftz0r) #232

lolwut? why would they want to learn from 2 games that were DoA? i cant think of a single thing that TF would have to gain from playing either of those games.

(.Chris.) #233

I’m guessing he meant their mistakes? (I hope)

(INF3RN0) #234

Imo people miss the bigger picture of it all. W:ET was f2p, so who knows how successful it would have been as a paid title. We just don’t. ET:QW was not as successful as a lot of games, but it did hold its own. Brink sold on consoles, but did not hold a player base. All the games had rough starts, but in the end developed into functional titles, though it was up to the masses to decide if they liked them or not. With 3 inherently different games, it’s hard to draw any sort of solid conclusion other than f2p worked best.

(warbie) #235

ET was f2p without the endless guff and adding content for contents sake that plagues current f2p titles. Imagine ET with shed loads of guns and class variants  The real test is how long a game can hold onto a player base. While it wouldn’t have been as popular if it was a paid for title - RTCW was the better game and didn’t last as long (arguably because ET killed it) - the fact that people still reminisce about ET in pretty much every PC gaming forum I frequent says plenty. The only place I come across ppl looking back fondly in regards to Quake Wars is here.

(Protekt1) #236

It is true that some people reminisce about ET and id3 but still… they aren’t knocking each other over to play that kind of game again. And I can assure you the reasons they reminisce is not the same reason people reminisce around here.

And yeah, I forgot about QW even existing… no one talks about QW.

Wanna hear a story?

Oops, at 12:58 he compares Titanfall to Brink and basically says Brink failed more. He goes on with Brink till 14:00.
I am unsure which positives could the devs learn from Titanfall, apart from how not to repeat its backdrops.
Still, watch the vid from the start.

Bizarre, TotalBiscuit also compared to Brink and said Brink did it better

(shaftz0r) #240

they should be removed from commenting on games ever again
