hey guys I need a lil help from u I have a server going but our admin is gone and the ppl that have admin lvl’s are always abusing so I’m taking it away from them and I want 2 give it back alter on but I want to change them quick. for like our lvl 2 user u can kick and ban and I want to take thoughs out of the list so do u guys know if I have to change the .cfg file on the server or can I jsut change it with Rcon commands?
I hope u guys get wat I mean and u guys say I can do it w/ rcon commands cuz I’m not sure if I can access the .cfg file but if u guys can tell me how 2 do it either way I would appriciate it I’ll try and check the posts about every hour or so plz help me out guys the erver is depending on u lol I love the server toooooooo

lol ok u know how u have some servers that have admin levels for their clan members I’m trying to change what they can do like level two can use: “admintest, kick, ban, listplayers, help, time, and uptime” I want to try and change it so it is more like: “admintest, listplayers, time, uptime, and help” I would ask our server administrator do it but he is currently “disable” I waz just wondering if there is an Rcon command to change the priviledge commands that the users get or if I have 2 change a .cfg file or another type of file on the server.

Which server mod are you using? If it’s ETPro you might find the answers here. If it’s Shrub, er, dunno.
As far as I know there is no admin functionality as such in etmain. If you’re not using ETPro or Shrub the people who can currently kick and ban must be doing it with RCON, in which case you need to change the RCON password to prevent them doing so.
I presume you could do it from the console like this:-
/rconpassword <current-password>
/rcon rconpassword <new-password>
but setting it in server.cfg would be the “proper” way of doing it. If you have FTP access to the server and it’s on a re-start script you just download / amend / upload the server.cfg file and do /rcon quit in the console to restart it.
edit: The server might be set up with Punkbuster Player Power settings. Never used it myself, but it’s described on the EvenBalance website here.
if you trying to do it with shrub and you have rcon you can do
/rconpassword yourpassword
/rcon setlevel <player slot #> 0
I’m not trying 2 set some1’s lvl I’m trying 2 change the commands that that level has I’m trying out new things so if u guys have ne thing that could help me out I would appritiate it
