I like shrub but......

I prefer the original ET way for showing kills and chat information on the screen. Is there a cvar what i can use to turn it back to its original state on shrub servers.

Should be the standard ET way. It should also be the default shrub setting though.

This is an option only the server admin can change, you cant change it on your client end.
The main reason for moving the info to the bottom of the screen is that the left side LAGS VERY BAD. If you are ever on a large server with lots of kills and captures (or dynomite plants) You miss all the IMPORTANT information like when your flag was stolen or when dynomite was planted because it won’t show up for a full 30-60 seconds later as all the death messages scroll by at a PAINFUL 1 message per second or so.
Maybe if shrub improves the UI like he did for tourney mod he can disable this silly delay and organize the information a little better so that we won’t need to stick the useless info in with the chat text.

I understand your point but,

i play on a lot of 32 player servers, and i prefer the original way information is displayed since i miss a lot more information in the new shrub way.

Shame there isnt an option, oh well

That’s one of the shrub options I don’t like either. Putting kill messages in the chat area makes it impossible to use teamchat on large servers. You could say “I’m blowing the gen, get ready to rush back” but few people will see the message before it scrolls away.

Shame the HL method hasn’t picked up with more multiplayer games. The simple playername-picture of weapon-playername method gets the information across and doesn’t take up lots of screen real estate.

There will be more shrub updates in the coming future, we should see more features implemented.

Also, another gripe about shrub is the ability to be a flak jacket med, or other weird combos. I like the way it was before.
