I just saw this on E3 Trailer for Dirty Bomb, why isn't this in the game?

(SamillWong) #1

I guess this will be an upcoming merc ability…

(Jostabeere) #2

Turtle. Probably the next merc who gonna be released.

(SpinnerzNQ) #3

That’s Turtle, an upcoming merc. He’s gonna be an engineer, and the shield is already in the game files. He’s never been playable (from what I know), but he’ll be here eventually. It’s basically between him and Aimee for who is coming next.

(SpinnerzNQ) #4

I think it’s gonna be Aimee. She’s actually been playable at one point, unlike Turtle. Though, she is getting a rework… who knows.

(Ardez1) #5

There are currently 3 mercs that are either rumored or expected to come out.

Turtle, who places the shield in the gif above. Aimee, another sniper but with a different recon ability(unless they change it) and Javelin who should have a boss rocket launcher if the leaked files are correct.

Enjoy!

(KorpKyuuSama) #6

I hope is him next, let’s save the best for last :stuck_out_tongue:

(doxjq) #7

What exactly did Aimee do? I understand she had some kind of surveillance type thing but no one really explained how it looked / worked.

(SpinnerzNQ) #8

She was basically another Vassili, with a slightly different playstyle (well I wouldn’t know myself, cuz I didn’t play the Alpha, but just from speculation)

(Ardez1) #9

Based on what I have heard from other users she had a ‘camera’ so instead of a wide radius detection it was a long range cone instead. It still detected players but it wasn’t 360 degrees like vassili. If I remember correctly the camera could also explode.

This is all just speculation though. They may change a lot about it and I never saw it first hand.

(p4v) #10

Turtle will be useless. Bring Aimee!

(tominatorx) #11

I don’t think that Aime will be very useful either tbh.

Anyway that’s my opinion.

(KorpKyuuSama) #12

Because most players don’t body block team mates during plants/disarms. It’s all about the kda…

Turtle is perfect. With he’s hall, i don’t need team mates to help me on that.

(torsoreaper) #13

oh my, another sniper and a dude who can put up a tiny barricade that is only going to be good for keeping people from getting out of elevators… :frowning:

(Kingsley) #14

There’s a lot of potential with the shield. You can create and force choke-holds on the fly (choke holds that would be devastating to experience) and it can be used as a platform for trick jumps.

The shield will add unique strategies to this game. I’m anxious for this merc.

(Kingsley) #15

If you guys don’t think that this will be effective addition, you lack vision. Competitively, what makes a team is how strong they can hold down choke holds and this shield makes it that much more competitive.

(Mr-Penguin) #16

Well, imagine Turtle on free rotation.

(SiegeFace) #17

Imagine any merc on free rotation…

If it were on free rotation, I think it will inevitably force casual gamers to learn how to effectively utilize choke holds and make all them better players.

I can’t wait to have Turtle, I really want to use this merc in comp and in tourns.

Don’t most players already know how to hold a chokepoint? You need a few players, hopefully one being a medic, and shoot the people that come through.

Chokes are important, but focusing them too much will lead to a breakthrough somewhere else or a ninja plant. Turtle brings to the table to temporarily block a passage with a barrier that can be destroyed with concentrated fire- which frankly doesn’t change much in pubs.

As for comp, I don’t know how the Bushwhacker and Fletcher meta will be shaken up.

No most players do not. Or at least not effectively, especially NA players.
