I play computer games but my cousin who plays them all the time talked me into getting quake wars for the PC instead of holding out of a false hope for the 360. He said shooters were better on PC on my rig they suck but on his Hell yeah! I played Fear and it was awesome guys! Now I see what your saying! His mouse is also in better working condition. Anyways he gave him a old card he uses in one of his throw away computers. Is this card any good, Will it play quake wars maybe?

Im assuming he has to have the best card card out on the market, He payed the same price for it that you would a msall console. man you upgrading PCs is pricey I mean with consoles its just like boom and its done with you guys its like Blood sweat tears. Amazing.

That’s a nice card, although certainly not the most powerfull available. I would think it could run ET:QW, although more than likely at medium to low settings, not entirely sure as its early days tbh.

PC’s for FPS gaming, consoles r pants.

i (still) have a 9600 pro 256 mb agp 4x, and i can run the doom3 and quake4 demo at medium smootly!

i’m going to buy a new one when etqw comes out. i’m thinking of a 6800xt and maybe a gt. how will those cards run etqw? i’m an ati guy :drink:

Thanks for more “proof”, and it isn’t even the low quality setting.

Ill get stable 30 fps in Quake4 low 800x600 and Stable 40 fps in Doom3 low 800x600. Used GFX: ATI Radeon 9600pro EZ 256 MB (so 400 core/400 mem vs 500 core/600 mem for your 9600XT). Still this depends on the rest of your system. Probably mine has another bottleneck. My CPU is slower then the minimum for quake4 (AMD Athlon 1800+ vs 2000+). So the rest of your rig needs to be fast enough as well. An PIII 500 MHz with 128 MB and GeForce 6800 Ultra would be slower then a Athlon 64, 1 GB DDR and 6600GT.
