i was told to melee only by some douche who thinks they run the game.
i got kicked because i dont want to play melee and starts to shoot.
this is 4th time this day i got kicked because of this.
can or should SD add report type for this kind of thing?
I’ve had this happen a few times too, and it’s annoying because the kick happens so fast you don’t even get time to report them.
Lol this happens alot, when people join and start shooting i think "challenge accepted! " and Try melee them.
On a side note, i hate people who try enforce melee only and kick though.
its the right of the people on the server to kick anyone they want.
i think melee matches are silly, but it can still be fun once in a while.
if 90% wants to melee only and you dont, just find another server.
While I totally agree on the annoyance getting kicked for this kind of reason, I hardly see why and how they could justify potential actions against players doing this. There’s plenty of servers filled usually, just join an other one (not with quick join btw).
And imo they can’t really blame them for doing this on a random pub server as long as there aren’t any community server. That’s also one of their usage.
It’s your decision not to play with them and it’s their decision to play melee and kick you if you’re a dick to them in that moment. I am pretty sure the people asked you not to use your weapons and you didn’t reply nicely to them.
Even though melee-only isn’t a real thing and you’re not obliged to follow someones rules, you can be nice and play with them or leave. But in that moment you’re a dick to them and you got what you deserved. They did nothing forbidden, sorry.

Next time just call a vote shuffle straight after they try to kick you, it cancels the vote kick.
Then continue launching those nades into the pricks.

If the whole server is actually going melee only, and you’re the only one shooting, I’m sorry but you’re a dick.
That’s like going into a Mario fanclub and saying Sonic is better.
Like others pointed out, there are enough servers and you can simply choose not to play on that one. Community servers are a long way from now and for those who do want to play melee only, this is their only option.
I have nothing agaisnt melee matches, i will even admit i called a vote for guy who started shoting 
if 10 of us play melee only, alredy 2nd round on sw why would 1 person ruin all the fun (it was min level 20 server lol)

well im playing dirty bomb expecting to shoot the hell out of anything then im kicked because i want to play like normal person?
go to CSGO or TF2 if you want Melee only.
Eh another one of these thread, yes its silly to be kicked from a public server, because you wanted to play differently, then again people kick vassili players for just playing a sniper…so yh… So what. Either way on steam you can find recent players, and report them through steam maybe? if not Idk.
Either way soon there will be casual matchmaking, and hopefully they’ll see some light into making community run servers (with a little cost) so people that want to melee can have a dedicated server. with set rules.
Anyway yes you got kicked, yes it was wrong. but at the end of the day unless you report them theres nth else you can do and writing on the forums complaining about it wont do much.

i went to a min 10 yesterday and they were fucking doing a knife only in it. I’d be alright with it if 2/3 loadouts didnt have the stilletto and other people were using kiritana. What fucking bullshit, they except me to melee only when they are prepared for it, and i can to get a good game with competent players.
@arcaneCanvas you are not a normal person. You are a d1ck to others who agreed to play differently on that particular server. You do not agree to the rules players set for that server? Find a different one.

Now Admittedly if there is a melee lobby I join in if I’m in the mood. if not. I leave.
And I’m sure DB are aware of this fact. That 1 melee only lobby’s are wanted to an extent and 2 that not everyone wants to do melee. So just make a custom servers we can rent and hey presto fixed imo.
Now I’m part of a DB Knife group on steam, Just so we can organise private knife fights, so we don’t bother other people as well.
And lastly I want to add like you said, leaving. Very few if any are knife servers, I come across them like once every 30/40 games. they’re not a “major” issue. IMO. just if you see a knife only lobby take it under your own responsibility to grow up and leave or just play a knife only lobby. no need to moan on the dam forums in the wrong dam section and not giving any god dam feedback as to how to fix it (while writing this I may seem aggressive but this inst meant toward the person I quoted, more to the person writing the thread).
P.s p4v I agree with you, most of my post was ranting at the OP for complaining and not suggesting constructive feedback.

you really don’t get it.
you are talking about rights, as if it was your human right not to get kicked.
People can kick other people, if the majority of the team agrees. Thats the game we are playing.
You don’t fit in the mold, you get kicked out. Probably one of the most powerful levers of natural selection in any species that have some kind of social relationship.
If you got into a game that you couldn’t leave and people tried to make you play melee only then you’d be in the right to not honor it if you didn’t want. However, since you can easily leave and find another server, it’s better to do so.
I do recall Jedi Knight 2 which, as you can imagine, had it’s melee/force user only fans. There were full weapon DM servers where melee only guys would get upset if you used weapons on them. All that despite there being plenty of saber/force only servers to choose from. In that case those players were in the wrong. However, as pointed out, the majority rules when vote calling for kicks is an option and we definitely are not talking about human rights here.
