I feel bad for SD

(Murderous Pie) #1

i have as many reasons to hate this game as everyone else, but i feel bad for splash damage now. badman probably stopped posting because of the flame alone, but i sadly agree that SD somehow just beat itself into a pulp.:frowning:

Well, I believe the bugs we find (AND PLEASE DO REPORT THEM ALL) can be fixed with the upcoming patch. Talking about client side bugs now.

The serverside also need some patching:
admin limbo menu like in etqw for example

(Protector) #3

Why do you feel bad for them, they have released a fantastic game and addressed a massive lag issue within days of release. It runs perfectly for myself and I’m loving it… Go cry somewhere else.

(abjectblitz) #4

I want to hear the trouth, ie. something like a Bethesda tosser forced us to release far too early. We are extremely sorry for his idiotic decision but we will fix the game at all costs.

what upcoming patch? for ALL systems? cuz the thing in the news thread says ā€œthe new update IS OUTā€ i always got confused about that

(Murderous Pie) #6

yes they fixed it on PC i am on 360 and still get insane as *** lag all the time.

(Ragoo) #7

They get a lot of feedback, why feel bad for them :stuck_out_tongue:

Unless they release the SDK, fix demo and work on bugs that clearly they should have discovered while testing I won’t feel bad for them at all just because we criticize them (as long as the criticism is fair, helpful and well worded).

FFS this game gets pushed so much in the esport community - just look at the 15,000€ ESL tournament. This is such a big opportunity for SD and BRINK to change FPS esport, they better don’t **** up!

(Crytiqal) #8

Was thinking along the lines of the upcoming free DLC which I thought would address some few more (bigger) issues aswell

(xTriXxy) #9

guys from SD deserve couple of days off. give them a break.

(Ragoo) #10

lol no? This game has big issues especially considering they (SD and Bethesda) clearly push this to work for competition and it’s not at all ready for competition in its current state. They need to work harder than ever now.

edit: I mean if this game isn’t perfect within the next months (or rather weeks?) so many people will turn away from it and it’s just another wasted opportunity :C

(Murderous Pie) #11

i wish they could its as if they are just too small a company to ever stop working

(BuzzNot.V1) #12

Ya I know what you mean when ever I break a bone I always give my self a couple of days befor I do any thing about it.

(xTriXxy) #13

 IT is always about good beer and nice girls. they will find time to have some relax you know what i mean:p

(Crytiqal) #14

Actually, it takes time to HEAL the bone, as it takes time to address the bugs.
Don’t expect it to be fixed within a day

(scub) #15

i don’t feel bad for them, and while im sure they are aware of the mistakes they’ve done (ie not doing a closed public beta test of the game with hundreds of players) they know that most of us here are standing by them because we know they will make it right.

besides, they aren’t probably posting that often because they are busy working on the game.

(xTriXxy) #16

i dont know a lot about gaming industry. But isnt publisher the investor? If there was no beta/demo, maybe publisher tried to save $$ as much as possible. We dont see into background.

SD is one of the best game developer company ever.

(St NickelStew) #17

I certainly have a lot of confidence that SD are, and will continue, to work to make online play better and better.

(eMwegA) #18

yep i think so too. Think publishers often force the devs to release games asap. not always the devs fault. think sd is known for good support for their games?!

(GR0MIT) #19

Agreed, i feel sorry for them aswell but let’s be honest shall we, they need our support, not pitty.

(scub) #20

publisher being the investor isn’t the case. well sort of in the sense that game developers use publishers to market their game and sell it… publishers name are usually more widely known to people than the developer so there is more chance a person buy a game if the publisher sounds familiar or if they purchased games in the past from said publisher… it’s basically a ā€œBrand nameā€ thing, nothing more… but a developer can also choose to have a publisher if they don’t want to do the ā€œdirty workā€ selling the game.

personally i think SD/Beth wanted to keep the game behind closed doors and hidden as possible from the public until being released so i think for this reason they choose not to do a public beta test (say with a couple thousand players).

im sure they conducted their own test, but there probably wasn’t a wide variety of different gaming rigs to put the game to the test in the real world.
