I can't sprint and jump at the same time, wtf?!

ok so bare with me on the topic why won’t ya!

So, after 4 month lay off because I haven’t got an internet connection, nobody remembers me in the servers and everyone blasts me away for asking a simple question because I’m some sort of noob for everybody, and that I’ve got my supreme commander status from a mod (gee wiz…)

Now, I got my internet and pc back. I installed Windows 7 from WinXP, and I only have one problem. I can’t sprint/jump at the same time.

When I sprint, all good, but when I jump I just stop there and can’t move unless I release all buttons and press forward again!

I’ve tried toggle sprint ON/OFF a houndred times and reseting controls 10 times, used differend keys, and everything, and it’s allways the same ****! When auto sprinting is on, if I jump I stop… if I have to use sprinting button manually and jump, then again my movement stops to wall!

I have never had this problem in my entire time of playing since the release of the first game demo and the game release in 2007. And the sprint/jump works in every other FPS game I have, quake 3, serious sam serie, doom 3, far cry 2… but not in quake wars, the game won’t allow me to jump and sprint at the same time.

Same problem actually when I use icarus, if I press the acceleration button when it goes up high, all good, but if I try to boost jump with it to get more speed on the ground… it stops like that… what on f#¤( is going on, could anyone please make me smarter here?!

If noone knows the problem, I go buy a new keyboard… but if that doesn’t work it should be more than enough evidence that something else is going on.

Check your ETQWbinds.cfg to make sure there’s not an accidental double bind somewhere.

Also, when in notepad, keep down one key and hold it down, then press another. See how many keys you can hold down before it stops being picked up. My old keyboard had a 3 key limit, made strafejumping in Wolf:ET Quite impossible.

Well like i said I’ve reseted the buttons and made them again couple of times.

Meaning, making buttons for only on foot binds and I only have one jump button… no vehicles.

But in the past my break button was CTRL and jump button CTRL and it has allways worked… but now it doesn’t work even if I use differend bindigs all together… it’s annoying…

well, thanks for your input anyway, man!

Check you’ve not applied a Brink update by mistake.

I told you, it’s an FBI virus.

Try to use different keyboard. Had same problem with microsoft wireless keyboard.

Looks like the FBI got him!

Make sure you use an usb keyboard and that it supports more then 3 keypresses at once. It’s a hardware problem on your end (unless you have a config that accidentally overrides your jump button at times.)

you know what would be cool if i could play etqw instead of getting connection interrupted thanks guys

Sounds like ghosting.

You need a keyboard that supports anti-ghosting (multiple keypresss at same time)
