i cant play ETQW on Ubuntu 10.04

hi.
I downloaded the file and i installed the game but when i try to play multiplayer or singlplayer a console apperas and says that cant open some files can you help me ?

Are the permission set right? Have u the rights to run it?

finally it sudently start but i played a match and then when i try to join a server the game quit and when i am trying to run it says whaiting for connection(or smth like that)…
P.S. when i am shooting i can’t hear my weapon but i can hear the other weapons…

Maybe some packets are missing?
How did u install it? With superuser rights or as normal user?

i double click on the file i dint use the terminal

Try it from the terminal or create an autoexec.cfg with this in it:

seta logfile “1”

Both ways will enable you to see the error messages the game gives, which makes it a bit easier to understand what happens.

The logfile is saved in the same directory as the autoexec.cfg and is appropriately named console.log.

U have to put the autoexec.cfg in /home/user/.etqwcl/base/ and there will be the log-file.

i reinstalled the game but the problem still exist… any ideas?

If u have any questions, ask me, because i made this howto.
There i explain how to create an autoexec.cfg.
