HUGE performance issues since last patch- game nearly unplayable

(artfulSedan) #1

I don’t knwo what you changed but since the latest update the game became nearly unplayable for me. Sudden random DPS drops, and extreme audio lag. I play with headphones so the audiolag is even worse for me.

Would be nice if we get some patch notes too because i doubt that you need 700 mb to add 5 to some variables to change the credit income.

(Humbug) #2

same problem here, the only solution is to restart the game after every match :frowning:

(Tomme) #3

Might not apply to you but other players, if you have used any custom configs you might want to delete them, or even just play with the options in-game.

(Humbug) #4

definitely not the problem, with all settings on low i get ~50fps and it drops down to 20-30 fps
i managed to get it to 100fps with custom config but after 1-2 games it just drops down to 40 fps again

(jaakari_junjori) #5

well today i didnt manage to get more than 25fps before update i did get 60 fps

(Gravity's Hand) #6

Same here. Running GTX 960, 7gb of ram, during the stress test I had perfect frame rate and audio. Running everything on low, i can manage 25 frames with audio lag. Also noted its worse on the NA servers than the EU servers. It does stop for me when Im dead or spectating.

(jaakari_junjori) #7

well i have ati radeon dual graphics and 12gb ram and just does’t manage to get more than 25 fps tried allmost every option but still 25 fps or less… o and running up hill… nope nope you cant do that its too lagy

(artfulSedan) #8

GTx 970 and 8gb of ram here yeah i can play planetside 2 with lags only in huge battels but here. The worst is the audiolag which started after the lastest update. Can’T play the game in the current state i hope they’ll fix it soon ._.

(MissMurder) #9

Thanks for the reports guys. All the info helps- we have heard the latest patch both raising fps and lowering it so

(Tomme) #10

7GB RAM? So random. That seriously sucks though for a 960 GTX, hopefully the issue can be resolved quickly I only have 4GB RAM and a 460GTX yet run at 125+ stable FPS on all maps so utterly strange.

(artfulSedan) #11

even the fps drops are not consistent they are random or location specific for some reasen something i never experienced before.

For example: the mud slope on chapel cause me to stutter extremly.

I also noticed that tools keep disapearing or have no animation.

My performance actually went up drastically from the last few rounds of betas with this new build. I am now always in between 120-140FPS where on the old builds I’d drop down to the 40’s at times. But a lot of that felt more like server hardware lag than the client lagging.

(bubblesKeyboard) #13

Idk how you guys hit hundreds, I can’t break 60fps. It feels like the game is capped for me. Even when I tweaked my config it wouldn’t go higher.

(chickenNwaffles) #14

Turn OneFrameThreadLag on (One Frame Interval in game) for a lot more fps, at the cost of some input lag. Currently I have to put it on or else I get shit fps.

(bubblesKeyboard) #15

I get some insane audio lag and the game seems to get more glitches with every patch. But its ok its beta xD

(Nail) #16

turn off vsync

(itssmacks) #17

The game is poorly optimised for AMD cpu’s right now. I don’t know if you mean you are running two cards in cf or an apu in hybrid cf. If its the former, disable cf. Almost all small/beta games have terrible crossfire and sli support. If its the latter you will just have to grin and bear it as db is currently very cpu heavy and apu’s have pretty lackluster performance.

7GB of RAM is actually just silly. running in anything but dual/triple/quad channel (whatever platform your cpu is built for) is going to slow down your RAM speeds and offset the advantage of the extra capacity. Same goes to you Jaakari, unless you are running a triple channel cpu 12GB of RAM is the wrong number.

(LiNkz) #18

I was able to run game on medium and it was playable +60fps and now on lowest it’s 40-50 fps  but I have horrible CPU so might be just that.

I hope in the near future they try to optimize game better for lower end pc’s

(artfulSedan) #19

okay to clarify that: When i’m talking of Framerate problems i talk about anything lower than 30fps. 30 fps is acceptable for me. (btw higher framerate <> fluid motion it depends on a lot of things)

No I’m talking about 20fps or lower to a point where you can’t aim right because you will skip frames of the enemy moving.

(Humbug) #20

:o that’s odd, your system specs?
i got: intel i5-3210M, amd 7670M, 8gb ram
and other ue3 engine games run just fine
