How well will this be able to run ET:QW?

I ordered this last week from DirectCanada, and it should be all here (all four shipments) by Friday of next week. Here is what I ordered:

Gigabyte Socket AM2 mobo
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ EE CPU

XFX NVIDIA GeForce 7900GS XT video card
Western Digital 250GB 16MB SATA2 HDD

Antec 80MM blue LED fan
Coolermaster Extreme Power 550W PSU
Logysis case with side window
10 pack DVD+/-Rs

What kind of settings do you think I will be able to get with atleast 20 fps? 30 fps is preferred though.

I guess this is for ET:QW and not W:ET?

ET:QW runs at about 20-30FPS here on low settings (P4 3GHz, ATI Radeon 9800, 1GB RAM) so this new machine should be able to get quite some more, even on more quality settings.

My dad has the exact same PC as you. Is your card 128MB?

Anyways, all I want for this system is to be able to play the most demanding games on the market right now on low tweaked settings (atleast). If that is possible, I see no need for spending more that I already did, lol.

You can hit stable 125 FPS with some tweaking.

I’m on E6420 (2.93 GHz) + Geforce 7600 GT + 2GB ram and I get constant 125 FPS without any problems (even higher on some maps/parts).

Just received most of the parts today! All I need now is the RAM, DVD+/-RW, and the LED fan. I havn’t connected all of the wires yet (will do that later), but everything is in place. It came with a 330 - 480W PSU, too. Will the other PSU that I bought seperately be enough for this system?

I downloaded the demo, but no matter what settings I use, I lag for some weird reason. I’m thinking it’s my CPU. Is there a way to get the most out of my CPU (AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 2.5 GHz)? I already have the Microsoft hotfix, the AMD drivers, and the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer. I am also using ForceWare 93.71.

If this is about ETQW - make sure your multi-display setting is set to ‘single monitor performance mode’ in the nvidia control panel / 3D settings.

Yeah, it’s already set to that. I’m also using Hardware mode. Should I set it to OpenGL specification? Supersampling/multisampling is also turned off, and everything else is turned on. What are the known lag-causers in the ingame settings and the control panel? I know AA causes a lot of lag, but what about AF (I have it set at 16X)?

You might need to adjust the graphics. Try the demo, then check the system requirements for the game before you buy it.

Hey I just want to know, how will this run?

Nvidia Geforce XFX Fatality 8500GT with 512MB
3GB of RAM
Intel pentium d dual core at 3GHZ
250 SATA hard drive at 7500RPM

It doesn’t have an SLI mother board, so I plan on running the settings on highest at a resolution at 1024 by 768 pixels. So please tell me how well you think it will run ETQW. If you do, thanks for your thought.

The video card is pretty bad, but it should do well on like, 1024X768 and low-medium settings. It’s like a 7300GT I think. Why did you get so much RAM? Oh yeah, I get average 50-60 fps on medium-high settings at 1360X768 with AA off.

Well I’ll think about it. I could do some adjustments. I don’t have the game right now, but I’m currently thinking about it. As far a I know, this game is like Battlefield 2, which is one of my favorite games. I have a lot of ram because I previously had 1GB ( 512+512MB=1GB) and I got 2 more 1 GB of RAM.
