How use Capitals in personalized saybinds?

([!!!]Weird*Al) #1

Hi peeps,

i was creating some personalized say binds for my et pro lately (e.g. bind m “vsay_team FTIamMedic ^1I^7’m ^1a M^7edic^1!!!”. unfortunately it turned out only to write small letters. does anybody know how to get personalized say binds containing capitals???

thx

bind m “vstr medicsay”
set medicsay “vsay_team iammedic ^1I^7’m ^1a M^7edic^1!!!”

copy paste tha into notepad save as blah.cfg into your etmain or etpro folder(blah being the name of your choice)
and /exec blah.cfg in the console or put exec blah.cfg in your autoexec.cfg

or bind m “exec blah.cfg”

and in Blan.cfg just have

“say_teat iammedic ^0MEDIC”

that works too

Thx, gonna check that one out. Don’t think it works tho.

Already got that bind running, just wondering why there won’t show any capital letters.

e.g i type: bind m “vsay_team IamMedic ^1I^7’m ^1a M^7edic^1!!!”

—> shows: i’m a medic!!!

—> instead of: I’m a Medic!!!

So the problem is not to get the bind working but to get it work right…

I need a beer…

have you actually tried either suggestion before saying it won’t work? as this has been asked many times before and I know for a fact the first suggestion works and I’m sure battery wouldn’t have posted his suggestion without testing first.

hehe did not have time to try yet… i’m getting bored to death at work…

i assumed it would not work coz he mainly explained how to copy/paste it in a .cfg and how to /exec it, so he may not have understood the question…

Both of these suggestions will work fine. The problem is that ET lowercases the entire command in a bind (but it doesn’t do that to anything else.)

Big Thanx to all!!! Turns out working quite fine…

Sry for doubting anybody’s competence…
