How to run a map on ET?

Hello,

I would like to run some of the maps on my computer (no other players, no bots) to explore them. How can this be done?

I remember being able to do that with the 6 default maps simply by running a local ET server on my computer (option “host a game”). However, I can’t find an option to do this for the other custom maps downloaded from various servers.

My computer is a Windows 7, 64 bit.

Thanks in advance.

If you download a map (pk3) and you put it in etmain, then you should see the map when you go host game. You have to make sure its single map objective and if you have different mods you have to have the pk3 in the respective folder.

The reason why you cannot select any custom maps from “Host Game” is most likely the default game type, which is campaign mode. If you set your game type to “Single Map Objective” in the “Host Game” dialogue, all maps in the etmain folder should show up in the drop-down menu.

start et and open console with ^ then type /devmap mapname

Thanks, I set “Single Map Objective” and it works. Via console works, too. Thanks guys.
