How Long Until A Patch?

(SURPLUS_NiNjA) #1

It seems like there are a lot of issues with Brink right now. A lot of people are saying they are getting bad frame rates, some crash all the time, just a lot of problems. I am one of the preformace people but I was wondering how long until a patch? I want to know if its worth the wait for a more solid game.

(phonixzero) #2

I think SD should be warning people not to buy their game until they fix these problems. ATI 48xxHD owners shouldnt even bother with this game

(murka) #3

The game has barely released. Give them some time.

(SpawnTDK) #4

when there are informations avaliable about a patch, be sure they will notice the public about it. until then, 12321253645 whine-threads won’t change a s**t

upgraded your drivers to 11.5a or downgraded too 11.4?

and for sure, every publisher will send stickers to all shops and tell em “put this on the box”
thats something totaly normal every publisher does

There’s really no excuses towards releasing a game without thoroughly testing it for these kinds of bugs :expressionless:

Wouldn’t you rather have a solid release rather than having a game that isn’t quite finished yet? I mean I thought they moved the release date up a week because they said their game was running perfectly smooth

(nlaak) #6

Why? The game was released. Which means is a finished product. I haven’t seen any indication from the developers that they’re going to patch the game or care about the problems. At this point, the silence is just going to hurt them in reviews and comments from the angry people here.

(hailey) #7

What does it matter if it was released a day ago or a year ago when none of these glaring problems should be in the release version?

(murka) #8

Compared to most of the games out there, these first day bugs seem so minor…

(Lemur) #9

While it’s true they shouldn’t be there, what’s done…is done. All we can do now is hope for patches.

(nlaak) #10

Wow, you must play different games then I do. A friend and I recently played Portal 2 in coop and had zero (literally zero) problems in any way, shape or form. We also bought CoD: Black Ops on day one (and despite being very disappointed in the coop mode) we had zero bugs as well.

(hailey) #11

Thing there are so many problems with this game I really doubt they are going to ever fix it. Plus with it being on every platform it is 3 times the work.

Especially when they change this forum to the “community tech help” and pawn us off on the publisher, what will they do? Or make threads pointing out all the positive reviews from noname websites rather than drafting up an apology letter to all the people who bought this thing in such a sad state.

(Striker92) #12

zero bugs in blackops…are u stoned??

(nlaak) #13

I never said there were zero bugs, I said we experienced zero bugs. But, like I said, we played coop, not multiplayer. Now that I think about it, I did play the single player through and didn’t have bugs there either.

(advocacy) #14

If Splash Damage doesn’t make a patch soon, nobody’s going to buy this game anymore.

(kilL_888) #15

im pretty sure they are working hard on resolving the issues, especially the ati issues that, so it seems, almost all ati users have.

im so impatient right now, im one step away spending 200euros for a new gfx card, just so i am absolutely sure to play the game friday without glitches and with a smooth 60fps.

but ill wait. i try…

I think that ship has already sailed. The launch has been catastrophic. PSN down, 360 version is in barely playable, PC version is buggy as all hell.

There’s only one reason to shove a game out this soon in such a bad state, because they have given up on it and are shoving it out the door to recoup as much as they can. I wouldn’t be surprised if SD shuts down very soon or atleast parts ways with Bethesda

afaik they aren’t working on any other titles and the game wasn’t worth continuing dev support so why would a lackluster launch give them any incentive to continue working on the game via patches?

(advocacy) #17

It’s not too late for them to fix these issues. Only if they care to, that is.

(Lemur) #18

Exactly.

Hailey, you’re so incredibly doom & gloom. You’re depressing.

well. you have absolutely no idea what your talking about. if you would have played the game for just a few minutes you knew how wrong you are. no offense, its the truth, trust me.

but, if youre just a hater, keep hating.

this game will succeed, because its acutally good. it delivered what it promised. sure, there are bugs. but not all people experience them. the crysis2 launch actually was more terrible than this. it still isnt playable online. you can say that crysis2 is full of bugs, thats actually true. but brink, nope. you’ll see.

SO MINOR??? I CAN’T EVEN PLAY. I tried playing multiplayer without the fov changed and it’s complete fail. I am not used to it and I wouldn’t even buy this game if I couldn’t change the fov. So it in essense not a finished game since I baught it and I can’t play. The other fail is single player coop doesn’t work since inviting friends always says server timeout. So all in all all I can do is single player champaign… that is not minor. And I’m not the only one. There are thousands…

They should’ve said, closed beta with some real people and not no sandbox b.s…I mean, how can anyone be happy with this and say they tested this? Did SD buy the computer for their families and then say ‘hey mom, try this for a sec… good game?’… ‘yes dear, very lovely’ done in 5 minutes b.s. it feels like.

OTHER THEN THAT I am very happy they made a game NOT like the others… but they failed in actually completing it.
