How is the headshot count calculated? Does it count as one each time a bullet hit somone’s head, or is it once per person? The first one sound logical enough, but very often it looks like at least two bullets (should) hit the head, but it shows up as only one in the stats.

Its every time a bullet hits an opponent’s noggin. Note that you have to do damage to score the headshot, so shooting someone who’s still invincible (has the blue shield) generates nothing.

actually i have tested this extensively and the head shot count is very innacurate. I did a test with a friend… he stood still in front of me and i shot him 10 times, 1 shot per second right between the eyes and only 4 of the shots were counted as head shots 
if you shot him in the head 10 times did you kill him 5 times?
1 headshot=50 damage
a person has 100 health assuming no level 3 battle sense and no medics on the team (or medic himself). 3 headshots to kill if any one of these factors are true.
First headshot (with smgs) does 40, charging you 10 points for knocking the hat off.

i do 1 hit kills all the time when i snipe, i hit the face. instant death
You must play on noob servers then, or shoot people who were already hit. Sniper headshots do 100 damage. Unless a player is already injured, or has no medics ont their team, that will not kill them.

Myself I heard that all headshots with smg does 50 damage (and testing this myself shows that Im right) and helmet reduces 20 damage.
Headshots are a good thing, although they’re not always lethal.
Headshots do twice normal damage, with a minimum of 50.
Helmets protect against weapons apart from the scoped K98 and scoped M1 Garand, absorbing 20% of the damage. The 20% reduction is applied after other factors, e.g. the minimum 50 damage. Shot helmets then fall off, leaving the player vulnerable to full damage from the next shot
Damage from a zoomed-in K98 or M1 is unaffected by helmets. Zoomed-in sniper shots do full damage, and will also knock the helmets off.
With a zoomed-in scoped sniper rifle you do 2 x base damage (2x50 = 100)

You need cheats enbaled on the server. Load the map with /devmap
So you have to have two computers or a friend to see anthing…

Sadly, not, AFAIK, unless the game was recoreded with cheats on, because the debugbullets hit boxes are server side entities
