How dose return to castle wolfenstein enemy territory patch works?

Recently I downloaded return to castle wolfenstein enemy territory patch,but i don’t no the use of it

Depending of the patch version, do the following:
Update to 2.60 ->
Windows / Linux : Use the update executable
Update from 2.60 to 2.60B -> simply replace the et executable with those delivered with the patch.
