How do I not advertise the server?

I need to keep my server private, but I can’t seem to find documentation on how to do this. There’s no public.cfg with ET, and I can’t find a list of even the command line options, nevermind the possible .cfg file values…

it’s called a password.

Why you wanna ‘hide’ it anyways…

I know I can set a password, but I’d rather not have to. There’s got to be a parameter that just says “do not advertise this server,” since it’s been built into every id game since Quake.

I keep it private because I can only have about 6 players on simultaneously, and since that’s the case, I’d like to keep the server open to my friends.

If you want to use the graphical interface, just set it LAN.
LAN servers work just as internet servers, diference is they are not announced and users must know the IP and port.
